If I were an AD I would privately talk to him. Let him know chances are small, but still a chance if it falls that far. Get it out of the way. Find out if there is anything that can come out that will do harm down the road.

If Herman starts getting to expensive, and a bidding war starts dump him high on someone else. Have the person who is proven, and the one who set the trajectory that UH coaches are taking advantage of now.

Any major AD would be dumb not to do his due diligence on Briles. As long as confident nothing bad will continue to come out then seal him up dirt cheap. Own him contract wise, and make sure that if anything does come out the rope is cut. Maybe even see if he'll pay some money back to the school to test his "word" on nothing is going to come up to hurt the school. Especially since lots of it is sealed up for a while.

Weigh the cost of polishing up the pig that Briles is right now vs getting in sooooo deep with a young unproven top 5 conf coach needs to be accessed for sure.

Sorry but of all places Louisiana future LSU player mommas can over look his past quick if it means going to LSU, and what all it means to their future. Ticket out of where they are now. LSU just needs to make sure all their "under the rug" stuff doesn't come out cause ESPN will be looking harder than the NCAA will be.
