This is the same logic used from last bowl season which launched the false sense of hope and all the hype around the Tennessee program this season.

Tennessee should have played Michigan
and Florida should have played Northwestern in last years bowl matchups.

This would have been a better representation of the then present team strength and future potential.

Instead it provided a spring board into the land of rainbows and unicorns for the Tennessee fan base and made them think they were contenders going into the 2016 season.

You're paving the path to a similar destination. Both Auburn and LSU are shadows of their former selves. Winning a bowl game this year while watching the other lose, isn't going to get you past a very strong Wisconsin team on opening weekend next year. Nor is it likely to propel you into a strong finish against a resurging Arkansas team after a deflating loss in Tuscaloosa.

Delusion doesn't build winners - makes for depressing losers and LSU has a hard road to tow in the next couple of years.
