Then Johnny Jones and LSU should be embarrassed that he let a one and done dictate what his whole team would do in a post-season. I don't give a shite if Simmons wanted to play or not. That's shitty to your upperclassmen leaving and underclassmen coming back that could use the extra tournament play.

Jones doesn't control if he plays- maybe NIT was contingent him playing. not sure how backroom those deals get

Why do you get so angry arguing hypotheticals involving a basketball program as insignificant as LSU's?

I'm not angry. You're the one that seems to lose his shite whenever someone questions Simmons.

LSU should have kept him from playing this whole semester it sounds like. He really treated them badly it looks like.

Eh, it's not like they don't have other talent. I'd be surprised that the NIT would demand that considering who all is actually in the NIT.

Trust me, I have questioned Simmons' value to the LSU basketball team much more than most. I "lose my shite" when people like you and Mike litter the board with threads on the same topics over and over and over.

I've posted plenty about other things. You're just obsessed about anyone questioning Simmons. I mean we get it. You think he's above reproach.

They (blue bell and wild style) do have a little unhealthy obsession with LSU .

I think so- they should be competing for those kids that need to play for a few years. Then be like the successful mid majors who have good years bc they have a bunch of 3 year starters playing.

I wouldn't even call that a mid-major strategy. Unless you're a Duke or a UK or a UNC, that's the tried-and-true approach for most major conference programs. Sometimes they luck out and get a real phenom, but they don't really plan for that.

Simmons' recent issues might have even hurt LSU's ability to recruit those types of players in the long run. Even if he goes #1 (a possibility that grows more and more uncertain as events that appear to point to Simmons hurting his own team with off-court issues unfold), top recruits have to be concerned that LSU didn't go to the post-season with the top player in the country. The fact that the blame lies with Simmons rather than LSU is a subtlety that might escape your average 17-18 year old.

It's an honest to god shame that lsu didn't make the tourney with the talent they had this year. Will jones be canned for sure?

I think Jones might be on a shorter leash than some people expect here. The budget issue is (temporarily) past, although the Med School in Shreveport got hit hard. Regardless, official politics (dealing with the state government) won't play now.

3 sports can make money at LSU- football, men's basketball, and baseball. You have guys with national titles on their resume running 2 of those programs; they are probably safe barring a huge collapse.

Basketball, you just got the huge collapse, and Jones doesn't have the skins on the wall to earn him more time.

How on earth can you say miles is safe after last year? He was literally kicked out of the house and then let back in based purely on pity

I legitimately have no idea why you're so obsessed with LSU. It is seriously bizarre
