Going forward the standing rule needs to be that the affected team will travel to the away team's stadium. affected team will get two home games in a row out of the series.

Sankey won't lose his job because it takes 10 SEC AD's voting to remove him to fire him.

Sankey's inaction benefits Florida, Ole Miss, Alabama, Arkansas, and A&M.

That's 5 schools right there. Sankey is bulletproof unless the hogs defect.

This game could have been played in Gainesville on Saturday, Sunday, or fricking today. But I guess you dumb fricks can't get that through your skull.

How is it UF's fault it wasn't?

Seriously?

All UF had to do was agree to it and it would've happened.

Just like LSU/Tennessee in 2005.

It is Sankey's fault. But you are naive to think UF wanted to play this game.

LSU could have easily said no to playing Tennessee in 05. They play 12 straight weeks and get crushed by UGA in the sec title game. It would have been in LSUs best interest to not play that game, but they did it anyway.

The SEC should have had a plan in place to play this game and could cancelled it if it actually couldn't be played due to the hurricane. Problem is this game could have still been played at its original time.

I will repeat this. No sec game has ever been cancelled. So none of y'all know how you would react to this because it has never happened to your program before. So get off of LSUs nuts until you get a fricking SEC game cancelled because the other team was chicken shite.

I have no problem with and agree with them keeping this at their place, within reason. The problem is that they weren't willing to entertain any other ideas than Saturday at 11:00 in Gainsville which, at the time, posed so many potential issues as to whether it was a realistic demand. This is why it is their fault. However, now, because UF was so bull-headed in their approach, it is unrealistic for LSU to have to go to such lengths to get this game in without UF being inconvenienced.

At this point, just like it's been the entire time, this screw up is on the SEC and Sankey. He should have threatened UF with forfeit or should have made a decision earlier in the week. He did neither. UF should not but punished at this point (though they deserve it). Likewise, LSU, A&M, UGA and others should not have their entire schedules messed up to accommodate the incompetence of UF and the SEC--perhaps it would have been different if it were the result of a disaster, but this is a man-made clusterfrick. The SEC needs to let it play out because the results are a byproduct of their incompetence.

Starting next year, should have an open date after thanksgiving weekend w the SEC championship the following weekend, the weekend then could always be available for makeup games.

LSU is probably my second favorite SEC team if I had to pick one if UGA blew up or something but the fans have been insufferable about this.

Please, you guys were losing your sh*t at the mere thought of your game being moved. The fact that we were so adamant about it is because we called this sh*t before it even happened. We knew what they were trying to do the instant they moved the decision from Wednesday to Thursday, the statement about keeping the game I Gainesville on Wednesday after the hurricane update that same day saying how it would take the path the it took.

Here is a quote from coach McElwain before the AD said the game wasn't going to be moved from Gainesville on Wednesday

quote:

The SEC could either postpone the game or move it to a different location. McElwain has an alternative site in mind. “We got an indoor,” McElwain said jokingly. “I guess we could go do it in there if we have to.”

That's not very funny now. And it really wasn't funny then. They had an idea about where this storm was going and yet they did nothing to try to get this game in in the event the storm had little affect on Gainesville, which is the case.

Florida players reacting on twitter about their families being affected

But what about FSU or Miami's players who had family all across Florida? Or any other team that has Florida players? Were they all clamping at the bit to get out of their games? No, they weren't. So this excuse is stupid. We all know what happened and I'm not that shocked. Of course, we may be a little more sympathetic had we not had it a lot worse and still played twice in 2005 on the weekend it was supposed to get played. LSU fans were furious last year when we couldn't play McNeese St that weekend. And that was McNeese St. A cupcake, and you'd swear we canceled the Alabama game. So don't give me these B.S. excuses like they are supposed to mean something to us.
