Let's also recognize the fact that UGA's happened in 1990, compared to Mizzou's which happened before a lot of our parents were born

I think Georgia has the most potential of current programs that aren't consistently elite at the moment. The scholarship situation alone should be a huge advantage (unless I'm off base here), and there is great recruiting territory in the state. Y'all need to find a way to get students involved. The Ole Miss model is a good one that Alabama seems to be moving toward.

Are they really this bad, or will they figure things out?

They're really bad at playing on the field, but really good at trying to start fights on the field. Atleast they were last year.

Other than my parents wishing they could agree with you, that is true. Beat us by a year too.
when was theirs? Mid to late 50's?

1954, along with three runner ups throughout the 50's-60's

I was thinking 1957. Maybe that's the year of the great ACC's last(and only) title

This is an easy fix: start winning. Like every UGA sport, student attendance and enthusiasm is second to none when the team in question is winning. They're not an overly dedicated bunch, but when that team starts becoming the hot thing, you'll never see so many students covering Kudzu Hill and packing out the houses and backyards behind left field. Same goes for basketball and football. They're not a consistent bunch, but when the team is winning the presence is there.

We hired a new coach but he needs time to implement his system. I was excited for this season.. but things haven't been playing out as I had hoped.

Same thing happened at UT with Serrano. It takes a little bit longer to implement a system than we would've liked, but it finally seems to be paying off.

Yep. Won Game 1, lost Game 2, single handedly lost Game 3 to Steve fricking Detweiler. There was (still is) a theory that UGA was hamstrung by the Nike bats we were using that year; bats didn't give anywhere as much pop as what other teams were using. UGA changed bats in 2009 and were undefeated for a good stretch before collapsing and losing pretty much everyone to the draft (which signaled the beginning of the end).
kind of off topic, but this reminded me when i was at the CWS this past year and was talking to a UNC fan. He was telling me how Fresno State was shipping their bats out every night and getting them corked, i believe. don't know if that was true, or he was just a sore loser

Who knows, but I had a UNC fan trying to get me to admit that they were a better baseball program than LSU now. Really laughed when he asked what LSU had won in the last 10 years. LOL. That won title is still more than they have in total.

No, Jeff.
Good guy, just a bit delusional with sports. Hell he wasn't too happy when I laughed at him calling ACC football an elite conference. Mentioning FSU winning it all. If I wasn't drunk I would likely remembered about UK winning in basketball. No one would call the SEC an elite basketball conference.

You give out rings for winning 11 baseball games? How bad are things in Knoxville when that's the case?
