Likely 8-4, I'd give them a win against one of the 4 above, but also giving Oklahoma a 50-50 shot at beating them too.

7-5 or 8-4. Losses to Bama, Okla, UGA, Mizzou, and USC.

I would say that there are quite a few toss up games on their schedule. Win those and you are looking at a 10+ win season and a very nice bowl game. Lose most of them and you still make it to a bowl game, just not a very good one.

The Vols first two OOC games will go a long way in showing what sort of season to expect. Bowling Green is a decent program that the Vols should beat with a bit of a cushion. Oklahoma is the sort of big OOC game that the Vols have gotten thumped in the last few seasons. Win both of them and then the Vols can stake a claim to being a legit threat for the SEC East.

6-6 or 7-5, the Florida game will determine which.

I agree with all of that. Big if but IF Tennessee beats OU this year, I could see this young team's confidence going through the roof moving forward. The majority of Dooley's guys with their loser attitudes have been processed out of the program and that would be the kind of win that could show that these guys are legit.

Anywhere from 7-5 to 10-2. 8-4 seems likely. Losses to UGA, Alabama, Arkansas, and OU.

Spurrier sneaks up on them and extracts revenge for the past two years...

They'll beat OU. They've been on the decline for awhile now (except for 2013) and haven't played up to their talent level in 7 years. OU is still shaky at QB, they lost Sterling Shepard, and the Mike Stoops experiment hasn't worked out nearly as well the second time around. OU has gone stale under Stoops and probably should have fired him or done a forced resignation after the bowl abortion against Clemson. I don't think this will be a very fun season in Norman and it'll really test their patience with Stoops.

I hope you're right. It seems like for the past decade, we've stumbled out of the gate immediately with an OOC loss and our annual beat down/bed shitting/clusterfrick vs Florida.

I've learned not to trust Stoops in big games anymore because they've been taking UGA style beatdowns in them lately.

Yeah, but its not really a big game playing a mediocre SEC team. UT hasn't won against a top 25 ooc to start the year in 9 years.

I'll rephrase: I've learned not to trust Stoops on the road against what looks like it'll be a pretty good team. For whatever reason, his recent teams have been very flaky and if they don't get off to a fast start they'll fold like a cheap suit.
