reelgator:

IF memory is correct, Tennessee was one of the schools that led the charge to harshly penalize Florida via the SEC stripping titles for 84 and 90 and not allowing Florida to go to a bowl to play BYU for the national title in 1984 after they were banned from the Sugar Bowl by the conference (The NCAA penalties were to ensue the following year), and then only a couple of years later UT found themselves facing a huge scandal that put them on probation. Is that correct?

It was the first time and last time in history that a conference penalized a team on top of the NCAA, effectively lengthening the sanctions by a year beyond what the NCAA provided.

So UF is known for the streak against a average SEC team and not for all of the SEC championship games they won or national titles? I think you have it confused . UT is known as being UFs bitch . Even when UT had the great Peyton Manning they couldn't beat UF.

Not to my knowledge.

Scholarships were reduced for two years and Majors said he was happy with the outcome. But it did start the process by which he was fired.

Saturday, we will be the only only SEC team to beat Tennessee 12 years in a row. Surpassing Alabama and Florida's shared record of 11 straight.

If we happen to lose (won't happen) we would still be the team that beat Tennessee 11 years in a row and the only SEC East team that has a winning record over every other SEC East team since division play began in 1992.

UF is the Beast of the East and we are coming for the Vo12s, be afraid, very afraid.

Tennessee is SEC East Ole Miss - a team that used to relevant way back in the day but isn't anymore and never will be again at least not on a consistent basis barring Mississippi and Tennessee suddenly becoming population centers.

As we all know, Florida is only known for having a little streak over the Vols, but after that ends Saturday what will their identity be?

Probably happy, because it gives them hope of a competitive rivalry with Tennessee. I don't think it happens, but flukes do occur occasionally.

I think the Vols win by 10.

And the longest active win streak against an opposing team (30 vs UK)

And the longest season opening win streak (26)

And the only team in NCAA Division I history to hold the men's basketball and football championships during the same school year

But yea.....our little streak over UT is what's important
