I realize there is always an optimism that centers towards delusion when a coaching vacancy occurs or may occur for a fan base.

However, I see listing of all these big names because of all these advantages.

I'm trying to determine if these advantages have came to be in the last 10 years meaning did they not exist the last time the LSU job was open?

I mean the last time the job was open LSU was just a year removed from claiming SC's NC, they were not labeled as Bama and Arky's bitch on the SEC cell block.

Yet the best they could do was hire Les Miles who was the head of a very mediocre Okie Light after Houston Nutt turned them down?

What makes this time different than last time in a positive way for LSU?

Joe Alleva being one.

TAF seems way more involved this time around being another reason.

And let's not pretend like Les Miles wasn't a very good coach for us for a long time. He earned a statue here.

Les was a bargain basement find that yielded a great ROI.

Remember the timing of the coaching search last time was anemic. If LSU makes the change, they are doing it at a stronger time in the coaching search.

Saban left after Superior and Meyers were already hired.

No one EVER said that and quite honestly now you look stupid. There were the camps that said Saban was a Horrible person (hated him despite winning) -ME, and others who were mad at the way he left being the lying horrible person he is. Wont get into the christmas eve debacle or the "I will not be the next coach at Alabama" etc. Just a stain on the earth. Great coach though. I personally think Skip Bertman, as much as I love him for what he did for LSU Baseball, botched that whole situation. I think Saban was fishing for LSU to up the Ante and Bertman pretty much said have a good time at Miami. Who knows though. I actually think the only more dispicable coach on the planet is Bobby Petrino who is this young mans opinion may be one of Satan's Generals.

There are also other highly desirable jobs open.

We saw last time LSU being unable to get a coaches to leave their job, what is different this time around to get the same level of coach to choose the LSU job over say SC?
