To be fair, this is a relationship based on pragmatism as much as anything.
If Bama wins an NC, it elevates the conference brand but doesnt really hurt Arkansas since they've already won so much. Any other school winning the SEC and/or an NC helps them widen the gap between them and Arkansas or creates the gap.
Also, being a 1 loss team with a loss to Bama still leaves you a contender.

I like South Carolina fans. Probably the only other school in conference I like.

I'm pretty sure -- but not absolutely certain -- that everyone is missing the joke, which is that LSU fans were cheering for OM this last week and used OM to troll Bama for the last two years because they weren't having success against the Tide themselves.
