I mean, I can see having friends who pull for your in-state rival. That's to be expected with the whole "in-state" part and all, but god damn.
This mutual admiration society some of them have going.

If you're proud about one from Alabama then you've got much bigger problems

Check the rankings bro

Why? So you can pretend that your art degree from the capstone is meaningful?

As opposed Ole Miss?
Are you really going to try to make an argument that there is a difference? I just find the holier than thou comments amusing when it pertains to academics from an ole miss fan. RG probably couldn't get into florida.

I'm not one to go into academic smack; I think it's patently stupid. I'm firmly of the belief that with any educational opportunity, what you get out of it is proportional to what you put into it. If you hit the books and pay attention, you can learn something at any university.
That being said, do you really want to go down this road?

Sure if that's what you want to do. Smack talk until your heart's content.

Did you just completely ignore the first paragraph in favor of reading the last sentence of my post or something?

It's their insecurity shinning through brightly. Neither programs have accomplished much of note, especially within the past few decades. They're looking towards each other for reassuring words, they don't have the experience needed to deal with expectations of success and are afraid of the imminent failure and having to face it all alone.
With Bama and Au, we both can stand alone and would never think of asking the other for help with fighting a conference foe. In fact we would laugh at the other for even suggesting an alliance and would shame our own for suggesting the proposition.
Basically, they scared and need some backup for when the shite goes down.

No I read the whole thing I was just telling you do what you want bro

Very eloquently put. You hit the nail on the head. You must have a degree from Ole Miss or something

And I told you in the first paragraph that I don't do that shite because it's stupid. Other people do that shite. Other people can pull up websites and articles and statistics just as easily as I can.
All I was implying is that you might not necessarily care for the results if they do so.

But see, both programs have had teams -- in recent years, even -- start the season with high rankings and higher expectations only to fall flat on their faces. They know how far the fall is, and how bad it hurts but they go full blown #WeBelieve every time.
shite, I pull for a team which rattles off national championships and 10+ win seasons regularly. Know how I go into every season? Cautiously optimistic.
I go into every game and every bowl with that same sense of cautious optimism. I don't go full #WeBelieve, and I actually have a fricking reason to.
