What was the family's status (social standing) in Mobile? Sometimes that matters a lot in terms of whether or not you're well liked. If his family had a bad rep/feuds with other families etc. that would tend to cause resentment instead of praise for him. Also if AJ ever got the reputation as an arse in high school that could stick in a hometown whether it's fair or not.

Yeah. The first one was a bad throw. The second one could have been better, but Cooper also should have come back to the ball instead of waiting for it.

I really don't know what Mett has to do with this, but you won't find 1 legitimate draft analyst or sports personality that would pick McCarron over Mettenberger.

Pretty sure Daniel Jeremiah and Mike Mayock have him at number 5. And those are probably the two best mock drafters/media prospect raters in the game. I may be wrong on them both ranking him 5 though, I know at least one of them does.
