Would the Cotton Bowl take Texas over Oklahoma at that point or would the Cotton want to see Oklahoma vs. LSU?

That is potentially problematic. I could see them potentially choosing OU v. LSU because both fan bases would have to revel, this hotel money. But, there are a lot of Sooners in the Metroplex anyway, and it would generate less enthusiasm than UT v A&M. I will say that the Cotton loves A&M. We've been the selection a couple of times when we just didn't deserve it.

2 loss k-state would gt a BCS bid.

No they wouldn't. Not as an at-large. They didn't in 1998 when they were 11-1. The Big 12 had to set up a special rule in 1998 where the Big 12 title game loser could fall no lower than the Cotton in a year that the BCS had one team from the conference. Obviously, they removed that rule some time ago.

The question becomes who would fill that spot, though. The SEC and PAC-12 are getting 2 teams in. Add the champions from the B1G, ACC, Big 12 and Big East and you are sitting at 8 teams. ND is in the NC game so you have one spot available to be filled.

That spot is going to a two loss Big 12 team after FSU and Clemson losing yesterday. Only way OU doesn't make the BCS is with a loss to TCU.

So if K St beats Tx then the standings* in the Big 12 could be.
* few assumptions made.
K St 11-1
OU. 10-2
Ok St 8-4
Tx 8-4

With Tx the fourth place team. Could the cotton really pick a 4th place 8-4 Tx team over a 10-2 ranked OU team.
I'm asking technically "could they" not "would they".

Yes they can and they beat OK State so they would actually be third in that scenario.

Yep. They won't have those teams together and Clem will be in that bowl.
