had to look it up but U. of Arkansas has one really cool MF'r that we all owe a debt of gratitude to.

Robert Maurer - This MF'r invented fiber-optic technology. Meaning he's made your online porn vids, netflix, streaming TV/movies, torrents, live video feeds, video chats, and all your fast downloading fetish needs possible.

and we have SunHog too.

Edwin Newman (NBC nightly news anchor for years)

Steven Soderburg(sp) Director Oceans 11 and other things.

Rex Reed - Film critic

Joanne Woodward - Oscar winning actress

Dr. James Andrews founder of American sports medicine institute and has operated on every major athlete that ever got hurt.

Robert Penn Warren - LSU professor (1933-42) and only man to win Pulitzers in both fiction (1947) and poetry (1958 and 1979).

He's got a stamp, too:

Worthy of note, too, that Faulkner's Sanctuary screenplay was so graphic that it spurred the creation of the MPAA's movie rating system, specifically the corn cob scene.
