I have never, not a single time in my entire life, called Alabama fans the word "gumps".

fair enough... but to be extra fair, hell... i've called us gumps before. but i like the term, for whatever reason.

You call Updyke an idiot, but then say what he did was no big deal, get over it.
It seems by Auburn fans retaliating, they are proving as a whole they have more class than Bama fans.

Thanks, that's good to know that we can all have stupid fans. When this happened at Toomers, the majority of Bama fans felt terrible and wanted to do something to help. We took up collections and sent money to Auburn, but it's funny that is never mentioned. Some had some real nasty comments about us sending money, and wanting to refuse it. Those comments are what me feel like to hell with you then.
In the 3 years since this happened, we could all have gotten enough money to send them to send in full grown trees, and they could have gone on with their tradition. I know they wouldn't have been the same trees, but grow up and accept the fact that a terrible thing happened because of one sick person, and move on and quit wanting everyone to feel sorry for you.

I thought what Updyke did was stupid, but there's no way I was going to spend my money or time replacing some damn trees.

FWIW: i do mostly regret the thread.
It sure seemed like a good idea at the time to ask that question. Yes it has been exhausting to hear the multitudes of loud angry aubbies...for a year. but, it was probably not the WISEST of topics for the SECr. prob should have put on bama board.
i didn't mean to sound like i wouldn't have gotten upset (but would have gotten over it muuuuch sooner) if it happened to us. was mostly just trying to hold a mirror up for the ones that want Updyke dead/life in prison.. etc. most people never put a sentence they wanted him to suffer, but said "they have no sympathy for whatever happens to him."
anyway. it all sucked. the thread was entertaining, but prob not my finest moment.
