What Nick Saban has done at LSU in the parallel universe where I assassinate Wayne Huizenga is never loses a championship game.

When Saban returned to the SEC, I remember Aubs calling all of us Bammers a bunch of "star gazers", and how Tubbs could take a diamond in the rough and polish 'em up to be great football players.

Don't laugh too hard. You know UA fans will fall the hardest when NS decides to retire.

So LSU can maintain what Saban built, but Bama with better tradition and resources can't? That doesn't make sense and sounds like your hopes more so than the probable reality.

When Saban retires there will be a dip, no doubt, but Bama will still be a top 10 program in the country.

I would agree with that. Even when Shula and Dubose were coaching, Bama had some Top Ten teams.

And Bama does have great tradition - probably in the Top 4 or 5 programs in CFB history if not higher, but LSU's is not too shabby either - 12th all time in victories, 8th in bowl appearances, Death Valley, etc. (and this was even """""BEFORE"""" Saban.)

I wouldn't say Bama has better resources than LSU either. LSU's are at least comparable to Bama's and any other SEC program (although many programs are continuously upgrading :)

Now if we're talking recruiting resources, Bama probably outdoes everybody with their budget for that, but Louisiana outdoes everybody when it comes to Divison 1 calbier blue-chip recruits (per capita.) We also have one of the top coaching staffs for coaching and recruiting, comparable to Bama's....
