Some of us are just dumb. No point researching the motivating aspect!
While such threads are annoying, they are pretty harmless. We have to be happy that it's not anything like a random killing, tree poisoning, or sexual abuse. Not suggesting that people really would get motivated to go to those extremities over a football game!
