I will take this drive chart by one of the nation's most prolific offenses any day.

4 trips allowed to the redzone.
4 drives above 50 yards.
7 forced punts.
3 interceptions.

All these are not counting the 1st drive by A&M and the last 3 minutes (which we have to improve upon lest it comes back and bites us in the rear)

Yes, our defense is the 13th in the SEC and I don't give a damn about the skewed numbers.

I don't think you are going to find too many Auburn fans that don't think State is good...Auburn fans in general have a ton of respect for MSU. So does our team. Most of our team watched the State game and know that they are going to have their hands full.

On the other side, it appears State fans are a bit overconfident. I am hoping your team feels the same way. I don't have any doubt that the teams are pretty evenly matched...and if whoever has the better day wins.

Having said that, Auburn at 100% is unbeatable. State at 100% isn't.

When State beats Auburn by 2+ scores this week, I fully expect this Auburn team to be the worst in years as opposed to "unbeatable at 100%"

You can't handle a world where State is good. I'm not sure you aren't a step down from last year - you know the year where you needed three last second wins at home.

No question State is improved. First of three guaranteed losses for the unbeatable Auburn Tigers. You might still be in it at halftime.

i'm hoping the real dan mullen shows up Saturday... you know the one who makes stupid play calls when facing a defense with an actual pulse. The kind of defense that doesn't give up 70 yard pass plays or QB draws for 60 yards.

and dak will throw it to the defense on occasion (granted so does marshall)... it's up to us to catch them.

Still doesn't change the fact that you were wrong about Texas AM gaining all their yardage while y'all were cruising.

ETA: those numbers aren't that far off from what Arkansas was able to do to TAM. 6 forced punts. 5 drives above 50 yards. 3 drives into the RZ.

What if the real Dan Mullen is the one that finally got the pieces together to run his offense effectively? You know, the one that had success at Utah and Florida as offensive coordinator.

I hate Auburn. Going to love watching your children cry Saturday.

Only took him 6 years.

Yeah a number 2 ranked AU team and AU fans will make this excuse?

I've said they are good in many threads, now what?

Your team lost 6 games last year. Is State the only team capable of improving?

Your dreams being crushed will bring me joy. See ya Saturday night...oh well I doubt you will show up, but eventually you might.

dude... he's been in starkville since 2009... it took him five freaking years to find the 'right pieces'? At some point, you are what you are... i'm not throwing out five years after five games.

Its fricking Mississippi State. Its not like he could just snap his fingers and change his team - it is what it is.

When he got here, he had a midget playing QB and a big bruising back. Not his type of team, but managed 5-7. Also signed Tyler Russell, which did not fit his scheme but was one of the best HS quarterbacks in Mississippi history - had to sign him.

Year 2 he had Chris Relf, which he had the size but dude just wasn't that good - went 9-4 anyway.

Years 3-5 he had Russell at QB (with a little Prescott last year). Our offense was very uncomfortable, but defense carried us to three straight bowls.

Now Year 6 he finally has a Mullen QB running the show. We're not going to beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa - but we are going to smoke Auburn like a Nick Marshall joint on Saturday

Show me where I said we cruised just the Texas A&M game. I was talking about the season as a whole (UAB, LSU, A&M, even So. Alabama)

In any case, you guys keep thinking we have one of the worst defenses in the SEC. Gosh, I hope your coaches too think the way you guys think while preparing for the game!

Sorry buddy but just stating a fact. Auburn has been here for a while...and when the offense is running on all 8 cylinders, and playing with decent defense, unbeatable. You cannot yet say that about State. Let's put it this way, Auburn has a higher upside. If they both play average in terms of their ability, I think either team can win. If both play near or that the best of their ability, I think Auburn wins FAIRLY easily...like 10-14 points.

That's not overconfidence...that's the recognition that State has not played against a decent defense yet and Auburn has been here a while...we are a known commodity. State could turn out to me downright bada$$ world beaters and win the national championship. If State beats Auburn by 2 scores, I will believe it too. We just don't know that yet.

UAB gained 400+ yards and 27 points against your starters.

Not really I think people are trying to say you MSU fans think you have the best defense in CFB is not correct.

I'm sure AU coaches are taking the #3 ranked team in the country lightly so you may get your wish.

DOUBTFUL, BUT POSSIBLE. And no, if State wins I think we will all be believers in State...not believers in Auburn being shitty.

You can't handle a world where State is good. I'm not sure you aren't a step down from last year - you know the year where you needed three last second wins at home.

Honestly, other than Auburn losing, I think it would be cool as hell for one of the Mississippi schools to win the West and go off and win the national championship. I can't live in a world where Alabama wins every year.

No question State is improved. First of three guaranteed losses for the unbeatable Auburn Tigers. You might still be in it at halftime.

Whatever. When on all 8 cylinders, 100%, unbeatable. They aren't always that way as you can tell against KSU and LaTech. And guarantee this buddy

3-2 was the impetus for where these programs are now, however indirectly. all that matters to me this weekend is to see a clean, hard fought game that both teams come out of healthy... and to see MSU keep that damn dillon day hippie from stomping on folks

After we scored our last TD to go up 48-17 with about 6 minutes to go in the 4th we had outgained Texas A&M by over 130 yds. They had a long 80 yd drive and an onside kick and score to get their late yardage against a prevent defense and no blitzes or pressure.
