We were talking at work one day about why the venom isnt spewed at Spurrier for taking the South carolina job.
The tune would change quickly if Spurrier went to one of the following places:
FSU
UGA
Tennessee

If you must know. I was born and raised in Mississippi. I lived about 20 minutes from Starkville. I joined the Army and lived in 3 different states. I was stationed at Ft. Polk in Louisiana for about 6 years in 2 different time frames. I met my wife in New Orleans. We live in Oklahoma for 2 years and decided to get out of the Army so I can spend more time with the family. We decided to move to Louisiana where she is from. It was due to the fact that Mississippi has a poor economy and lack of jobs. But thats none of your business even though I told you. I hear more about LSU than I do about Mississippi State. Your a Tennesse that hadnt been good at football since Tee Martin and Payton Manning played at Tennesse. So, try again jackass

It's been 11 damn years. Yeah it's annoying that he quit his "challenge" just to come back to our division, but life goes on. Unlike Alabama fans we do have other things in our lives besides college football to concern ourselves with.

Not a LSU fan but gonna chime in anyway. Saban regrets leaving LSU in a big way. He loved it there but the NFL was an itch he had to scratch. If he had it to do over again he would never leave baton rouge. He likes Tuscaloosa, likes the money and he likes the attention but he loved Baton Rouge.

Thankful for his time here
He's enemy now and I'll be fine when he hangs it up.

It's more to do with the fact that he's personally responsible for LSU not possibly having another NC.
It's been THE game since Saban arrived in T-Town (with few exceptions)

I like and still respect him. He was one of the major factors in putting LSU football back on the map. Just wish he wasn't coaching one of division rivals

I've never met anyone who loves Baton Rouge

I really wish Saban would retire.

This is beyond played out but I will say, he is a great coach and brought my team to hieghts I never thought they could get to. Les has done a good job keeping us near the top of college football and a big reason was the job that Saban did.
If he was at a Big 10/ACC/PAC/Big 12 school, all of this would be a non issue.
Also, it's been over 10 years.

The only difference in the series is the fact that bama lucked into 2 of the top 5 or 6 coaches of all time for an extended period..
So no, it wouldn't just be somebody else.

PS-Gene Stallings was 1-5-1 against LSU while at A&M, and 6-1 against LSU while at Alabama, so there goes that excuse.

It's not an excuse, it's a fact.
Alabama and LSU aren't much different in terms of facilities, support, access to talent, ect. Both are the big dogs in their respective neighborhoods. Things like that. The difference is that you were in the right place at the right time for some of the best coaches ever.

I was with you until this. You have that story completely backwards. Not being able to get Drew is a huge reason he left the NFL.
A control freak like Saban doesn't want a GM picking his players.
Ahh........ I live in Metro New Orleans. I've been a big-time Saints fan for years. I know the entire Drew Brees story well, so, NO, I don't have the story backwards.
After Brees had his shoulder surgery, from Dr. Andrews, he had offers from two teams, the Miami Dolphins and the New Orleans Saints. The Dolphins were far and away his #1 choice.
During the summer before training camp started, Brees couldn't throw a football even 20 yards. So, there was a lot of speculation that he may never be able to throw a football with the velocity needed to be a professional QB. Dr. Andrews cleared Brees and Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis from the Saints accepted it and offered him a $10 Million guaranteed first year contract with a $12 Million option on year 2.
Well........... Saban wasn't comfortable enough with Dr. Andrews assurances and wanted further tests done and wanted Brees to come in and submit to more tests from the Miami Physician staff. Brees told him that he had already went through enough exams and that he had Dr. Andrews full endorsement and wasn't going to do it. Brees and his agent told Saban that if Miami matched the Saints offer, he would sign with Miami. Saban wouldn't and Brees signed with the Saints.
And........... the Saints have gone on to their most successful 10 year run ever and Saban left a year later after Culpepper was a complete failure.

You proved my point. Go ahead and tell me why you guys lost to Oklahoma. Thats right , you didnt care about that cause it wasnt a championship. Get on the SEC Network and cry to Paul about everything. Are you married to Phyliss are just your sister. Hell, it might be both.
