Sure, there weren't many bowl games before but look at vandy's past records. They weren't even close 98% of the time. I want him at UF

He is a great coach. Vandy will miss him when he leaves. The SEC will miss him when he leaves. I think a strong Vandy makes the SEC that much better.

1983 - 2007. 25 years. 25 losing seasons.

2008 - 2010. 3 years. 1 winning season. 1 bowl game. 1 bowl win. And 2 two-win seasons.

2011- 2013. 3 years. 2 nine-win seasons. 3 bowl games. 2 bowl wins.

Has timing been brilliant to allow CJF to take advantage and make bigger strides faster? Of course it has. I won't argue that Vandy has risen from the cellar against the strongest SEC East in history. What it has done is add a win or 2 each year. Either way, it's still 2 bowl games and 2 winning seasons in 3 years. Slightly less impressive, but still historic.

Vandy was outscored every single season from 1982 until James Franklin got there. In hIs three years he's been +66, +172 and +70. I don't understand why Franklin isn't the #1 candidate for every available job.

This. I'm sure someone will hire him this off season, but how he didn't get stolen away last year still surprises me.

Meh. What he's been able to do is manage to get Vandy to beat all the bad teams they play and about half the mediocre ones. I guess since no one else has pulled that off, he's a genius.

What Spurrier has done at SC, now THAT is amazing. Their history isn't much better than Vandy's.
