2014 - UK: Up 2 scores in the 4th QT. Lost
2014 - Mizzou: Up 2 scores extremely late in the 4th QT. Lost.
2014 - UT: Up 2 scores extremely late in the 4th QT. Lost.

Other nominations include 2005 Independence Bowl vs Mizzou and 2004 vs UGA. Up 16-0 going into the 2nd half, lost 20-16.

THAT
GAME

The TV in the lobby at West Laville almost died that day

Saints puking up a 20-9 lead and losing 36-20 to the Eagles in the 1992 NFC playoffs is up there too...

Wow, that was rough to watch. Horrible play call

Impossible to describe the turn of emotion. Once he fumbled, there was no doubt Auburn would win.

As far as the OP's question, any of the Iron Bowls mentioned (1972, 1997, 2010) are good candidates but I think the honor has to go to the 1984 Boston College game.

Kerry Goode runs back the second half kickoff to give Bama a 31-14 lead. He then blows his knee out in the third quarter and Bama watches Doug Flutie put up 24 unanswered (17 with 12 minutes or less to go in the game) to win 38-31.

Goode had IIRC right at 300 all purpose yards when he got hurt early in the third quarter. Once he went down, Bama went to complete shiat.

Mizzou 2014
Kentucky 2014
Tennessee 2014

In position to win all three late, but lost all three.

Bama 2012/2014

LSU Baseball 2014 Regional vs Houston. Blew 4-0 lead in 8th inning. We were on our to the supers, preparing for an epic series vs Texas and had all the momentum in the world. Ended up losing that game in extras and got waxed by them the next day.

Astros vs Miracles Mets in 1986

LSU Basketball, too many times

In-game collapse: BCSCG 2013 (UGA 2013 would have beat this except for the Prayer)

A golden oldie for the other old folks is the 1979 Wake Forest game: AU led 38-20 at the half and lost 42-38.

Total game collapse: 2001 Iron Bowl

I remember that well. Colorado went 11-1 and smashed Notre Dame in the Fiesta.

Nope...that Colorado team went 11-1-1. Tennessee tied them in the Pigskin Classic to start the season. If Chuck Webb runs out of bounds on the last play, UT would have had to kick a 25 yard FG to win it...

The year you are referring to was 1990. Stewart's hail mary was in 1994.

There was a 6 year period between 1989-1994 where they won 11 games 3 times. They did a lot of winning back then.

I'm going with the 1994 Auburn game. The interception game. Leading 23-9 early in the 4th quarter.
