It is just one of the most annoying thing on here. I've been a Kentucky basketball fan my entire life. I endured a near decade of mediocrity under Tubby and the Billy Gillispie era. I grew up there. My mom went there.

But because I didn't stop becoming a fan when I decided to attend Alabama it all of a sudden means I am some sort of bandwagon fan.

But, I see you are a grizzlies fan, so at least you're on the top in 2 sports right now...

Grizz are awesome this year. The Titans on the other hand...

Damn, well I bet you're enjoying things right now.

I still wonder if the Grizz have enough firepower to get it done in the playoffs, but I have that feeling this is their year. Beating the warriors at this pace is going to be a bitch.

I think there are two fan bases that respect and understand that everyone is out to beat them in their respective sport. I see a lot of mutual respect for both schools.

Personally, I know a lot of UK basketball fans here in Alabama - mostly through them being military and stationed here - and they cheer for Bama in football moreso than any other team. So I really don't think much about it when I see a guy with a UK sweatshirt on and a Bama hat

I dated a cutie at Alabama from Lexington, KY when I was in school. She was a lifelong UK basketball fan but became an even bigger Bama football and basketball fan. She moved to Atlanta and I ran into her at the SEC basketball tournament cheering for UK and then at a SEC football championship game pulling for Alabama (her alma mater)

I had to question a friendship because he rooted for both Alabama AND Auburn because he was born in Alabama. He'd only wear cowboy shite when in Stillwater and going out to red dirt concerts. He was an ultimate front runner and try hard. Don't talk to him much anymore, his Dad is a judge in C. Oklahoma and got him on the Edmond police force. I don't know how he got through the academy honestly.

Jesus. Are you as big of a redneck loser as your friends?

No it is not. Bama's football team has been a top 10 merchandise sales going back decades, even during the worst years. It would be the same of UK. Michigan went 5-7 last year and they were the third most valuable college football program. You are just ignorant

Crazy thought. Maybe they grew up a Kentucky fan then went to school at UA or visa versa

It's also not uncommon to see an Auburn/Kentucky combo either. Especially since the University of Kentucky has a long standing agreement with Auburn that they won't host a vet school and Kentucky residents receive instate tuition at Auburn for that program. Lots of combo fans at the Downs on any given day.

Never know about that agreement between the two schools, that's pretty awesome.

Never seen or met a person with both of those likes but I guess it is possible.

Yeah, it them and Tuskegee as well. It's why UK doesn't have a vet school, otherwise it'd be pretty big here with the horse industry.

Bear was in Lexington for about a decade and he maintained those friendships for the rest of his life. In the older crowd it is not uncommon to see the Cat and Tide fan combination. Lots of intergenerational crossover between the schools. Some trivia, Col Sanders uncle lived in Alabama and he worked down there for him early in his life and his wife was from Jasper.

I resent the Bama/UK fans purely out of jealousy because they have great falls. My two teams, well...

Or football before Saban@Alabama. I think bandwagon fan, because that's what most of them are. That's true with any team that's won big recently, so it's nothing different, but it is one reason why I couldn't pull myself to root for those schools. Never understood the bandwagon mentality or how it could be considered enjoyable
