That’s what it was! I remember that now. I was like, “Verne, buddy, dude just ran with the ball for like 70 yards and you think it was an incomplete pass?”

When you play well, Gary is gonna like you and say nice things about you. Why? Because you are playing really well.
Bama did it more than anyone.
But if I did what you guys do to him, I'd say he was ready to french kiss Joe, CEH and JJ and JC over and over again in 2019. When your team is elite, it's just easier to say that. Verne did the same.

More of a lowlight than a highlight... when Mark Ingram was on his Heisman run, he went on and on about how Mark Ingram Sr was in prison and rooting for his son from jail. It was ridiculous how he kept bringing it up and he seemed obsessed by it. At one point he was telling the story again, and like 30 seconds later whatever team Bama was playing blew up the running play Bama called and there were like 3 defenders tying Mark Ingram up.
Verne's call: "And...Ingram's in jail."
Probably didn't realize what he'd done, but very bad timing and sounded awful the way he put it.
