I can somewhat understand the term as it applies to football. If you have mediocre fan support, mediocre cash, mediocre pay for coaches, and mediocre facilities, then anything above mediocre in terms of performance should be considered a gift. If you have excellent fan support, are flush with cash, have a high-paid coaching staff, and excellent facilities, I don't think it's completely unreasonable to expect a return on that investment. That having been said, I think LSU is jumping the gun a bit by firing Les.

Great points but every school has to start somewhere. There are many great programs now that were awful a few decades ago and vice versa. I just think its silly for a fan to sit on the couch and say he deserves better.

UF deserved better than our last coach was able to provide.

The biggest issue to me is how LSU is chasing him out. This is disgusting, absolutely pitiful.

The guy has led them to their best 11 years in the history of their program and they are treating him like he's a leper. If he doesn't leave yesterday he's going to infect the entire University and destroy it forever, hurry FIRE HIM NOW!!

It's really sad to see such a great coach who obviously loves that University to be treated so terribly. It really tells me what kind of fans LSU has. The guy can't even leave honorably from a place he has done great things, instead he's going to have the trap door open under him.

I hope he takes an SEC job so he can bitch slap LSU.

I'm glad the reports were wrong about him stepping down today. I think you have to at least let him finish the season if you are going to fire him.

I understand what you are saying but I don't think deserve is the right word. He definitely needed to go because he wasn't doing his job though

These wins get sweeter every time an LSU fan says they are so much better of a program than we are.

Talk about arrogance. It really makes seeing them fail that much better.

I guess you could say that. Karma gets thrown around a lot as well.

Every fan base wants to think someone else is obsessing over them.
