Not reading this whole thread, so if germans.... But, for its NC ramifications, Billy Cannon being called short on the game winning 2 point conversion against UT the yr after LSU had won the NC hurt LSU the most of any call in my opinion. LSU went on to win the rest of its games, and with that "loss", LSU was stopped from winning back to back NC. Cannon has always said that he will go to his grave knowing he was in the end zone. Not sure, but there have always been rumors to the effect that S.Shaw was in charge of the league officials even back then.

Sabear ..... on the link you posted two questions for you: 1. What was the reason the official ruled the pass incomplete? 2. What happened on the next play?

1. Gothard was ruled out of bounds.

2. We ran a toss sweep to the right that was stopped.

We laugh at everyone else's "worst calls".

Curtis Brown's TD catch vs. Auburn which was ruled out of bounds, and Preston Gothard's TD catch vs. Penn State in 1983, also ruled out of bounds, which was even more blatant. Both occurred at the end of the game, both would have been ruled TDs with replay, both would have meant certain victories...not some "maybe" shite like LSU fans want to hang their hat on.

Peterson's interception in '09 wasn't a maybe, hoss. Even honest 'Bama fans readily acknowledge that. That's not the worst call to ever go against LSU but you're off base. TROLL TIDE!

Looked to be about 1 yard inside the boundary when he caught the ball and then fell out of bounds. I could not tell if he had juggled the ball thus the reason for the incompletion. Tough missed call in my opinion

I'm not surprised I have to spell it out for LSU fans. If Peterson gets the interception, MAYBE they win the game, "hoss".

The non-call (holding and/or block in the back) on Stabler's TD run in the 1967 Iron Bowl.

Bama lineman tackled Auburn LB (Gusty Yearout) from behind.

Barner urban myth. Never shown in any photo, ever.

One of the worst I've seen was against Tennessee last year. Clowney tackles their RB in the backfield, tosses him around, and the ball comes out. Fumble, right? Wrong... the ref's called it an incomplete pass because his arm was moving forward as he was tackled.

I think this was the last tackle for a loss we've had.

So I guess human history prior to the invention of photography doesn't exist?

I saw it live and on the Auburn review TV show the next day.

It kept lsu from having the chance.it doesnt matter that lsu didnt move the ball well that game. 2014 lsu vs bama, bama hadnt done shite all 2nd half on offense and what happened with 56 seconds left?

Yes. So it would have been a one score victory. LSU's offense was abysmal.

Pretty much the same O with JJ at QB carved you guys up the entire 2nd half a year later. So there's always hope. Unless you are playing Bama and there are Standard Def replay monitors.

Its laughable to hear GUNTS say an offense that hadnt done shite all half would continue to suck when the 2014 lsu vs bama proved that to be false.

While UA has easily been on the receiving end of bad calls more than anyone in the SEC, this ranks up there as the worst..

and the SEC and football gods have been favoring them ever since in an attempt to make up for it.

I reviewed the video and you are correct, that was not holding, but tackling on #72. That was not offensive pass interference, but attacking and that was not defensive pass interference, but mauling

I watched that whole video. The only bad call was the offensive pass interference, which was a TERRIBLE call. The arguments from the Auburn radio homers on the other calls are silly.

As bad as the PP int was, the worst blown call I've ever seen was in a UGA-GA Tech game in the late 90s. A Georgia player left the ball on the ground after being stopped and clearly knocked down. Like laying flat on the ground for a couple of seconds down. I think they were in the red zone going for a game icing score.

There was a pileup, so I think the ref couldn't see the end of the play and that the Georgia player was down. An alert GA Tech player quickly picked the ball up and showed it to the ref. They gave GA Tech the ball, and they drove the field for a game winning score.

(Edit- Jasper Sanks in 99. Already mentioned. Game was tied and UGA was going for the win with time running out. GA Tech won in OT. Sanks was in a big pile, but clearly down. Memory fades over the years, I guess, but I never forgot how bad it was.)
