What is the real reason A&M and Mizzou won't play their rivals?

This isn't a troll. I just never cared enough before to look into it.

I wouldn't think they're scared. Nobody is scared to play a rivalry game. But why did it end? I've heard everything from scheduling to spite of leaving the big12. Could be all of it. I just didn't know if there was a cut and dry answer.

There's obviously precedent. Georgia, Kentucky, FSU, SC all play yearly OOC rivalries. South Carolina even has the changing conferences thing too.

Bad blood? Scheduling?

Mizzou-Kansas I couldn't give a frick less, but A&M-Texas was fun to watch. I think our state would implode if we ever stopped playing every year.

Oh, I don't know. Maybe it takes two to tango? Acting like Mizzou doesn't want to play Kansas

We don't play Texas anymore because we left the Big 12. Upon leaving we expressed interest in keeping the game going. They threw a fit and said "You left, we get to decide when to play again. We don't have room on our schedule."

TLDR - T-sips are little bitches.

Because neither team considers it a rivalry. The only reason we had the game for 3 years was because we both came in under the same round of expansion. We both came from the Big 12, but the Aggies don't really care about the old Missouri Valley Conference members of the big 12. Those aren't rivals for us. We consider Texas teams our rivals because they are in state. We consider old members of the SWC rivals because we played them for years. We consider LSU a rival because we played them for years. We don't really care about playing Mizzou every year. TBH, I'd rather play South Carolina.

Might want to reread the title again

I'd think that Missouri would be all for playing Kansas every year in football. Kansas is way worse than Middle Tennessee St, so you'd think Missouri would have a chance.

Texas-Texas A&M is fun to watch on the field.

MU-KU is fun to watch on the hardwood.

We might see a Texas bowl matchup with Texas A&M v Texas (or TCU). I would get excited to see that.

How did I imply that at all?

We don't want to give our decision makers a built-in out for Sumlin.

Let's say we have a shitty season but beat the t-sips every year. That's good enough for at least 40% of our donors.

We had to move past that mindset.

Why do people on this board refuse to accept that Kansas doesn't want to play Mizzou and Texas doesn't want to play A&M?

It's not like they are calling up asking either of us to play.

Mizzou wanted to keep Kansas on the schedule but Kansas was too butthurt that Mizzou moved to greener pastures while they were left in the most pathetic conference around.

Cut and dry answer- we moved to a different conference without them in it and almost killed their conference in doing so.

True or False: Sherman isn't fired if Tucker's kick goes wide right and A&M wins 25-24.
