Also who believes Jadeveon "Peterbilt" Clowney has a chance of breaking it.

No way. If he was in his prime, maybe, but he's not going to hit his prime for several more years. Probably 2-3 years in his NFL career.

100x this. Derrick Thomas would have skull fricked Clowney. Clowney is great but DT is immortal

Clowney takes too many plays off, mentally and physically to touch the record.

He should worry about leading the SEC for a season, before he worries about records.

I thought David Pollack holds the single season SEC sack record at 22?

Had DT played in this era he'd be a top 3 Heisman finalist.

For a long time the voters were basically completely against giving it to defensive players or underclassmen, just on principle.

Things are different now and everyone gets more fair consideration.

I doubt he'd have won it, but ya he'd be top 3.

T'eo coming in #2 has to be one of the biggest jokes ever, but hey there's been lots of Heisman hillarity over the years.

At first thought that number seems unbreakable but given Clowney may have 2-3 extra games than DT had its possible. Its only a little over 2 sacks a game.

Fortunately for Clowney, Jarvis Jones won't be there to show him how it's done for the second straight year.

Hell, Damontre Moore was leading him in every statistic until he pulled his hamstring.

Didn't Thomas also get 2 or 3 sacks in the Sun Bowl that year that don't count in his season stats?

It's bullshite, just like Barry Sanders's bowl stats from the 88 season should count. It's not that hard to adjust records to account for bowl games.

Comparing Jones' 3rd and 4th year stats to Clowney's 1st (where he wasn't even the starter) and 2nd? Seems legit...
