The old adage is that 3-4 defenses are vulnerable to the inside run plays, am I right?

Depends on how good the ILB is.
In 2011, UGA was great on the inside stuff. Lattimore burned us by bouncing runs to the outside (as did a lot of the bigger backs).

2012, it was a weakness. Our ILB were slow to react to the run and were caught 4 yards beyond the line of scrimmage constantly.

I think its funny myself. They dont like the way I say something, and accuse me of being a sockpuppet to discredit me.Says a lot about their character. Im just relieved though that they accused you of being me rather than someone from another fanbase. I might have taken offense.

I see it differently.

With the exception of 1 game...

Only SC, Bama, and Nebraska ran successfully on that defense. Excellent offensive line with exceptional running backs, and the ever-lingering threat of a pretty good quarterback is what turned a 2 yard run play into a 4 yard run play, in each of those games.

I submit that the 3-4 wasn't a weakness in any of those circumstances. A 4-2-5 or 4-3 would have yielded similar results.

what about 3-3-5? Its good against the pass, and decent against the run. But if an RB take the handoff on the outside, it could be a big play.

The way Chavis and Saban have been running their D is the way.

Chavis has had LB's in the Nickel that can go into coverage like a safety.. Some were former safeties.

And Saban has LB's the size of DE's and the speed and can move up and around the line.
