I don't know any of the best players. That is in part due to lack of media coverage.

NFL, MLB, NBA, NCAAB, NCAAF all have players that people know about and want to see play.

Easily the #1 factor is the fact that the best baseball prospects rarely play college baseball. Imagine if the likes of Adrian Peterson, A.J. Green, Julio Jones, Percy Harvin, Reggie Bush, Jadaveon Clowney, and Vince Young never played a down of college football. That's probably what would have happened if the NFL allows players to declare for the draft straight out of high school like MLB does. The interest in college football would go down dramatically.

Small ball

I love the sport and grew up playing it up until my senior year of HS, but I understand why many won't watch. I went to watch us play Princeton last weekend, and my God I was bored to tears

3 hours of 1-0, 2-1 games are boring as hell

Small ball and slow play. Both can be nearly completely eliminated.

Maybe the new seams will help the small ball (I think someone here has already posted some evidence to this).

The number of times a batter steps outside the box during his bat slows down the game. Get in there, get set, and swing already. The MLB implemented the one foot in the box rule this year. If that improves the speed of the game at that level, it needs to be a rule in college.

I attend 30 or so college baseball games a year counting the SEC tournament. I attend maybe 7 football games a year. If I had to give up one; I would give up football.

1. It's not football
2. The best players out of high school usually go straight to the minors

It's uninteresting to watch. How many people that go to the games actually pay attention? Just forget about watching it on tv.

Being a true fan of baseball at any level requires an understanding of the nuances of the game and a hell of a lot of patience.

Patience is rare when it comes to any type of entertainment nowadays.

Wooden bats & 7 inning games leading to a 2 - 2 1/2 hr. game would get me there more often than I go...

3 - 4 hr slow arse games in Feb.- Mar. are mind numbing if you're there purely for the game, was different when I was in school & it was a 5 min. walk instead of a 90 min ride to Foley field... JMO...

High School baseball at West Lauderdale is a better product than most colleges. Would rather spend the time there

This.
I also think the most vocal opponents are those who likely didn't play the sport themselves when growing up.
