At one time many Arkansas recruits were LSU's throw aways so they always played LSU with a chip on their shoulder.

There was a lot of truth to that back when Nutt was here. We had more LA kids then

That's what I thought but he was talking like it was a sports bar or something. I'm not a big fan, you can get more chicken at Zaxby's.

I always liked the Arkansas football program.

Arkansas fans? Not so much.

They have an exaggerated sense of everything Arkansas, stemming from feelings of inferiority for being--well, Arkansans.

I know from personal experience, having lived in the state for many years. Believing as they do that the outside world regards them as inbred rustics, they have an ingrained mixture of anxiety and hostility in their view of the world (and people) beyond the state's borders.

Which is a shame. The fact is the Arkansans I knew and worked with were every bit as intelligent and talented as people in SF, LA, Chicago and other places I've lived.

They had no reason to feel inferior in any way, and yet--the anxiety (and to a lesser extent hostility) these people exhibited was startlingly noticeable.

These unfortunate characteristics are enormously amplified on an Internet message board populated by sports fanatics.

I suppose I should factor this in, and in doing so, be a bit more generous in my attitude toward Hog fans. They simply react as many of us would if we were perceived as ignorant bumpkins by people who had never visited our state or met any of its residents.

what is the obsession with LSU

We 'sessed, baw.

See my sig.

When I was in college, I learned to hate LSU because the fans in Little Rock that came to the game were assholes. Sure, nowadays the Arkansas fans in Little Rock are mostly assholes. I haven't attended a LR game since 2006.

Getting tiger-baited by white trash fans, some who mean well and are good-natured, but others who stand behind those and yell stuff like "frick your mother", "eat shite motherfricker", stuff like that... It made me really dislike your fans.

There. That explains it for me.

IRL, and not on gameday, I like the LSU people I know. At games, your fans (at least used to be) about half pricks and shitheads. People who'd literally go out of their way to get in opposing fans' faces.

I never experienced that from other SEC teams that we regularly played. Blame it on Little Rock, or North Louisiana, or whatever. That was my introduction to disliking LSU.

-----vs-------

Never

So yes, id say regularly.
-Every recruit to sign with LSU from 98 to 2011 and stay 4 years has an SEC Championship ring
-Every recruit to sign with LSU from 2000 to 2011 and stay 4 years played in a BCS championship game

No player in Arkansas history has an SEC Champ ring or BCS title appearance.

I don't know how else to put it. I guess you are right all you can do is laugh, and fall back on some victories against the program you wish you were. Kind of why this thread exists

Lots of fail in your post.

-Tennessee is barely over .500 since fulmer left.
-LSU has 3 "10 win" seasons out of 4 since our last SECC and NC appearance. 12, 13, 15* (mcneese cancelled)
-"Generations" are not 4 years, if they were Arkansas has had 2 winless generations vs LSU since joining the SEC.
-If LSU is the Tennessee of this generation what does that make Arkansas? Who hasn't finished with a better record than LSU since 2002

you are right here, but our chances of hiring Herman are better than your chances of becoming Alabama

Odds are neither of these happen, and LSU continues to be a better program than Arkansas. We'll see
