A lot of it is based on the game he had vs South Carolina last year and he also came in an led a couple of scoring drives vs Alabama after being down 27-0 to cut the lead to 27-17. He has potential to be really good, he just isn't consistent. Who knows how far along he could have been if Butch Jones hadn't fricked around with Worley so much.

Dobbs' numbers multiplied over a full season.

Your "mediocre" argument is idiotic at best.

...the stupidity on this forum never ceases to amaze me.

And he won't be playing in garbage time throughout the season. We have film of him now.

You can adjust those numbers down a bit...

Dont forget he managed to use his legs for a 4th quarter comeback against our mighty Gamecock defense from last year.

Exactly. The redshirt came off in late October against Bama. He had fresh legs while his opponents had been through a 7-8 game grind.

When Dobbs was in the game last year the Vols did two things. They moved the ball and they won. The other QB's had a hard time doing either of those. He has intangibles that look good for Tennessee. When their other QB's were in the game their offense just seemed lethargic, but when Dobbs took control the "O" clicked.

You played against shite teams. He should of looked all world in each of them. He did not. He will be UT's version of Treon or Driskel.

This guy gets it.

Typical ignorant ranters simply looking at stats while having no idea what they are talking about.
Every single Vol fan will tell you Dobbs has some issues, like accuracy for example, but to say he isn't good or we'll be disappointed is asinine.

He fits our system and has proven to deliver in the clutch. He's also smart as hell and isn't going to embarrass our university like some recent QBs around football.

This. He will look good to above average against crappy be teams but none of the teams he faced up to date will have the speed of UF, Bama, UGA,or even OU etc. He even struggled against lesser defenses in Vandy and Mizzou. I don't expect that to change against the equivalents middle of the conference D's in Arky, SCAR and MIZZOU.

11 career passing TDs to 12 ints. He's James Banks or Brent Schaeffer 2.0. He's average passer but great runner. He fits it all right. He had one good game against arguably one of the worst defenses I've ever seen. UT fans championing academics and morals for their QB while ignoring their players who rape, rob and break the law. WOW have the mighty fallen. #MVU

You just called Missouri's '14 D "lesser" and in the very next sentence called the '15 version a middle of the pack defense after they lost their best defensive player and half their defensive line to injury and dismissal.

Somehow they improved from sentence to sentence after losing their entire D line.

Not sure anyone can take you seriously at this point.

You Gator fans rank pretty high on the 'ole idiot scale.

A UT fan even suggesting Gators are idiots is pure comedy.

Fact: Dobby Boy had trouble with Vandy

Fact: Dobby Boy played mostly against the lesser teams in the SEC to win three games....UT always front loads their schedule

Fact: UT fans pound their chests and proclaim Dobby Boy is the second coming...the media took the bait and feeds the masses....its what they do best.

UT is going to fall hard and we will all be laughing at you on this board. You will start to look at Butchy with sharper eye and sadness will follow when you will realize he is Ron Zook 2.

Let us all know when you feel the sting of the hook in your mouth.

Fact: You are coming to the Swamp and things may get for unpleasant for Dobby Boy when the run game aint working and he is planted into the turf on third downs. Antonio Morrison and Jarrod Davis are waiting for him.

Dobbs is the second best QB in the SEC, behind Jeremy Johnson.

Yeah, he only played against the SEC champs, the SEC East winner, and 2 other teams that beat Florida

Serious question for you Vol fans I don't wanna start a new thread for this. What are your realistic expectations for Dobbs completion percentage, TD to Int rate, passing and rushing yardage?

Im gonna be pretty wide with my ranges b/c these things are pretty tough to predict

65-75% completion
3 TD/1 INT
Around 2700-3300 passing yds
around 800-1200 running yds
