Yeah; I'm all for an exciting call, but don't make it so blatant that you're actively rooting for the team.
ETA: Verne Lundquist, LSU v. Florida 2007, "Onions!"

Seriously, out of the whole run of the 90's and Tebow's 4 years, y'all seemingly have nothing to show for it in this department. What gives?
Mick Hubert sucks, that's what.

I have no problem with this. I get that sportswriters need to usually remain objective, but sportscasters (particularly radio guys on the so-and-so school radio network) have a responsibility to convey the game and atmosphere as they see it, as it's unfolding. I'd rather hear them excited and into it than neutral and trying to remain calm.

Any Jack Cristal call ever, but especially the end of the 1980 Alabama-Mississippi State game.
The last two minutes of that game.
BULLDOGS RECOVER!! BULLDOGS RECOVER!!!
Biggest win in school history. (sorry LSU fans it isn't last years beatdown on the Bayou)

Even Verne is better than our radio guy.
Verne Calling The 'Cock Block
Mick Hubert Calling It

The kick six call was embarrassing.

Munson was legendary, but he could also be the biggest nega-dawg if things were going bad.

My favorite is probably Eli Gold's call for the screen pass to Yeldon in 2012

You do realize that these guys call for a specific team don't you? They do not work for Fox or ESPN. They work to cover the team
Dumb

Oh, he's easily the reason why every generation of UGA fan up until his passing just assumes the worst for UGA sports

Bluegrass Miracle
Everyone knows what happened, but few know how it was originally called on the radio by now former LSU radio head Jim Hawthorne.
Finding audio of it is difficult

LSU radio play-by-play man Jim Hawthorne infamously screamed, "Caught! Caught! Touchdown! I do not believe it! That's Jack Hunt." Hunt, a former wide receiver turned safety, wore No. 8. LSU later deleted Hawthorne's mistake from the archived recording. Hawthorne, moments later in the broadcast, acknowledged it was Henderson who wore No. 9.

Why are you mad at Rod. Did he touch you? That was a fantastic call.
He's mad because he's an Ole Miss fan and doesn't know what it sounds like for their radio announcers to call a win.

I'm sure they still have the 1950's on tape.

I'm sure they have something from beating us in 08 since it's the goat moment in their program's history.

I was driving my family home from visiting my grandfather in the hospital and almost wrecked because we all went ballistic when UGA scored.

Mick Hubert is the worst D1 football sportscaster I've ever heard. I'm sure he's a nice guy but it's amazing Florida doesn't do better than that guy and his "OH MY!" signature line he does 100 times a game.
