LSU has a couple of early tests that will set the course for the season. I don't think anyone outside of Mississippi expects State to perform anywhere close to last year's 10-3 so its Auburn's visit on Sept 19th that will tell the tale and set someone up with a little breathing/margin of error for winning the West.
Oh, has anyone mentioned that the last time Auburn won in Baton Rouge, Tennessee was defending national champs? That's how long its been.

Probably Bama. Objectively I think LSU should win it this year, but it's an absolute must for the Tigers. The losing streak to Alabama will be out of control if LSU drops this one again.
Your QB situation is terrible and you just downgraded at the only thing that kept you in games, DC.. Yet you objectively expect to beat Bama?

y'all will crush louisville. Did you see what we did to them in the bowl game with a nobody playing QB the whole second half?

I think he just wanted you to explain why you will beat Bama not just saying you will.

It is cute how LSU fans criticize Nick Marshall when he led Auburn to 41 points against your greatest of all time defense last year
Wut
ETA: You lost 45-10 to our GOAT* defense
*Arguable

I didn't realize I was speaking with a 10 year old. Considering your misuse of the word "objectively", I probably should have.

Well at this point in the year saying that LSU is even going to beat Syracuse largely comes down to speculation, so I don't know why you guys get so butthurt.
Our QB play will be night and day compared to last year, I'm truly sorry for all the weak-minded posters who can't say anything about LSU other than "terrible qb play, lol". You're about to lose the only tool in your shed. This comes from watching practices, what I hear from those close to the program, and the spring game. Book it.
The defense will be improved. LSU's "number 1 D" was rarely actually dominant, instead applying a "bend don't break" motive that just wasn't equipped to handle a modern offense. The transition to Steele's and Orgeron's D will lead to improvenent.
Regarding the Bama game, you could go through the roster and point out the several advantages LSU will have this year, but overall (especially at this time of the offseason), it's just more of a feeling than anything.

Arizona St. First game will set the tone for the rest of the season.

Not sure why some of the LSU fans are getting worked up over this post. Maybe it's the "...meh."
Anyway, I will be worried to some degree about nearly every game this year:
1. UGA - They have owned us lately and should have a qb broken in by the time we play them.
2. Bama - It's the Iron Bowl and both teams are very talented.
3. LSU - Not quite as scary as they were a couple of years ago, but it's still in Death Valley.
4. UL - A mismatch on paper, but playing against Petrino in an opener will make most AU fans uneasy.
5. Arky - Definitely one to watch out for, playing on the road against a coach who would sell his soul for a win over Gus.
6. aTm/Ole Miss/Miss St - We will be favored in all of these games, but could easily lose any of them if the ball bounces their way.

Based on what? I mean I don't understand why you would say you "should" beat Bama this year

Because if I thought LSU would lose then I would objectively say they should lose to Bama. I'm just saying if I were making bets, I'd bet on LSU this year. Yall chill out, this thread is speculative.
