What ever happened to SMU coaches Ron Meyer bobby Collins

Watching 30 for 30 and Ron Meyers was on the show and looked good but they never said what happened to Bobby Collins other than he never coached again and I know he got 800k severance package. I didn't know Meyers but Bobby was a decent guy and clearly got caught up in bad situation. I always thought he has a damn good coach and U don't remember problems at USM when he was there. He started their program of taking Sec rejects and making them very dangerous team even bear didn't want to frick with.

Meyer coached the Pats and Colts. I think he went into tv after that.

Former MSU athletic director hired Bobby Collins but the president nixed it. Hired Sherrill instead.

Collins was almost hired by State but IIRC the president said "frick no" and wouldn't sign off on it.

I know he never coached football. But did he become an alcoholic and commit suicide or become small town minister and help poor kids

Bobby Collins went back to USM as the head of fund raising. This was in the 90's. I'm sure he has retired.
