Maybe. No way you can predict the future. Things change drastically every 5 years. UF isn't immune to a long drought. There's more to winning then having fertile recruiting ground. Just ask LSU fans pre-Saban.

Eh, I think UF is as close to immune as you can get. They're a top 3 athletic department, in a major, talent-rich state, and with tons of money. Helps being a top 2-3 job too.

A lot of what the TN fans have said in here is accurate.

Tennessee has seen it's highest Season Ticket sales this season since 2007. Donations are up higher than they've been in 10 years. Obviously the twitter fans are out in droves.

The three things Tennessee needs to cement this excitement and fully turn things around are as follows.

Get a winning season, Beat one of Florida, Bama and UGA this season and find a "sexy/Marketable/longtime holder" of the QB position for the next 4 years.

If Dormandy can come in next year and win the job (and play very good) after a 7-5 season that includes a win over one of the teams above. The program will be set to return.

Either way, UF went 4-8 last season and we've never done that bad. Bama went 3-9 one season and we've never done that bad. Our cycles are longer, but less sharp. Our last really bad cycle was in the late 70s.

That's a nice brochure summary that isn't apparent in real life. Denying that Tennessee needs an energy injection is ridiculous.

Umm you haven't been paying attention. We've got the energy injection - Jones and staff provided that and this year's newcomers added even more. Tennesse has been buzzing with energy - that's how we landed our class last year and how we're landing another good on this year. You can quite literally feel the energy the moment you step on campus.

What we don't have yet are the wins and we need a maturation chamber to grow up all these kids. And recruit depth behind them. Unfortunately, we don't have one so we're stuck waiting.

Theyre not as far away as most would like to think. They should have beat Georgia and they beat USCe. If they can get good Qb play and some playmakers on offense, they will be fine.

They have lost their identity and it will take them beating Alabama for them to get it back. Until they do, bowl games and championships are a thing of the past
