Yep. It boils down to old school bias against southern schools, as evidenced by the votes and representation.

It just sucks that DT hasn't been in. Forget the on the field product, which was amazing, but the guy was a class act off the field as well. Clearly some sort of bias is going on here.

I was and still am very saddened by Derrick Thomas' death.

He was an incredibly nice guy in real life. I was fortunate to be his personal assistant at his favorite Missouri resort during his prime football years.

He'd call my cell phone and tell me that he was driving down to the resort and I'd prepare his condo, wine, golf cart, everything for him.

To thank me, not only would he tip very well, but he took me out on several occasions to dinner and clubs with his friends. He even asked me to play piano for he and his girlfriend for an hour or so.

Very well spoken, great guy.
