I’m actually surprised with their fall. What were the arguments made against them?

Play someone other than Alabama in the SECCG.

No clue, I guess they should have lost earlier since quality losses outweighed quality wins this season.

It’s crazy they had no margin for error. I thought they were supposed to be a media darling so the drop surprised me.

Nothing at all. Played hard, got beat. Just was the wrong year to go 12-0 and lose the conference championship

Not fumble the exchange at their goal line. Make the FG. Stop a couple of 4th downs.

They needed to have played LSU in the SECCG and not BAMA.

Yep. #1 for damn near two years and you lose by 4 to one of the other best teams in the country …. next thing you know you’re playing FSU in the Orange Bowl.

Win….and we validate the committee’s decision to kick out FSU

Lose…and you validate their decision to keep you out.

Yuk

I feel like the media would have given the Big 10 champ a pass. Michigan was predicted a guaranteed “in”, even if they lost their championship game. Why did they have that cushion? Georgia got no cushion lol

I honestly didn't realize how close the game was until I rewatched today.

Maybe it was alcohol, adrenaline or both, but the game never felt in doubt.

There were some dropped INTs by Bama, but it ended a much closer game than I felt.

Bama stepping up late to close it out when it mattered was huge.

Real question is… if Georgia beats the mighty 13-0 Seminoles, do they self claim a national title and 3 Peat?
