Cumberland Avenue(the strip) needs to be renovated badly. It's an eyesore. But, thank goodness, the Cumberland Avenue Project starts in December.

Here's a link for anyone that attends games in Knoxville regularly.

I like how much non-SEC schools, especially the most arrogant ones, hate it more.

Me too. It's like saying "frick you" or "In The Face!!" to them without actually saying it.

Coaching - Not a whole lot here, though I think Saban can sometimes be too stubborn to abandon something offensively that may not be working in a particular game.

While he was at LSU, I saw him do the opposite during a 2004 game at Auburn. Marcus Randall lead the Tigers right down the field for an opening drive TD. Then, he's yanked out of the game and not put back in until the middle of the 3rd quarter. To my knowledge, Randall wasn't hurt, so I'm still not sure what happened with that. I understand that he'd decided to alternate QBs before the game but I'm a big believer in the "keep the ball in the hot hand" theory.

1. Richt under-signing. As such not maintaining even close to a full roster at times.
2. Lack of daily discipline could prevent on and off field incidents before they happen.
3. Recruiting too many thugs. We obviously don't do enough research into the backgrounds of some of these recruits.
4. Generally mediocre recruiting on the OL.
5. Insufficient recruiting in the DB way too many seasons.

What Can You Legitimately Criticize About Your Own Fans/School/FootballTeam?

Fans - Covered in depth last week in Vermilion's thread.

School - We've been somewhat fortunate in the selection of our last couple of presidents...probably need to do a better job of vetting prospective presidents, I guess.

Football team - Hmmm. About all I can think of is we need to do a better job of evaluating PKs coming out oh high school.

1. Tiger Stadium is great, but fans leaving at halftime so they can go drink or "beat traffic" is driving me crazy. I have been to games the last few years and have seen it first hand. I see it on TV all the time. Fans should stay till the final whistle. But, the party often comes first.

2. LSU often plays down to their competition. This has been a historic problem and I only HAVE NOT seen it in two seasons in my lifetime - 2003 and 2011. It is infuriating. There are teams that LSU should beat by 4 TDs and it is a close game going into the 4th quarter. It is almost like we don't really start trying until we have to.

3. LSU fans are often shocked when a player from Louisiana wants to go to school from somewhere else, but are happy when they come from out of state to go to LSU. Makes no sense. But, we think that everyone from Louisiana should be loyal to Louisiana and can't understand why anyone would see it differently.

4. Les Miles can make inexplicable coaching decisions at times. So, even though things might be going well, I am always wondering if something stupid is about to happen. And, I am a big Les Miles fan and am happy we have him.

1. Bama has a minority of fans who do really stupid things that give the 80% a bad name. Every school has this problem, but the Bama idiots always end up on the news.

2. Bama fans are entitled and spoiled, even the good fans. We are like Braves fans in the late 90's. We have become bored of success and do nothing but gripe and make excuses. 11-2 is a great season for any team in the nation, but at Alabama the sky is falling. When we do lose, we need to learn to take it like men and quit with all the "well they lucked up/it's the FG kickers fault/we didn't even want to be in that game, etc. What's even worse is our players seem to have that attitude as well, possibly even the coach.

3. This is becoming a little less common but please stop responding to every comment by opposing fans with "but we have 15 national championships." First, we don't have 15 and inflating the number lessens the value of all of them. Second, the concept of Bama fans being obsessed with that number came from two and a half shitty decades post-Bryant where we had nothing to brag about but that number. That era is over so stop acting like the present still sucks.

1) Fans leavings early, probably due to #2 below...

2) Weak home game OOC scheduling. We need to do more home/home games with others but I don't think we're changing this. Don't know if it's for the money or for branding out.

3) Sometimes beat the toughest teams in football every year but barely beat the bottom of the conference when it matters most, usually at the end of the season.

4) Not as often as some of our fans make it out to be, but clock management...

To each his own. It was a blast chanting it after destroying Ohio State in the natty. Especially after they were saying it should have been an all big 10 game with Michigan. We got plenty of Gator cheers in also, but they seemed to really hate the SEC chant most.

Funny you say this - my own fanbase (ND) has a tendency to do this as well. We've been absolutely god awful for the last twenty years with two exceptions (2005 and 2012), and even those two exceptions turned out to be not quite as good as most thought.

At this point, though, I think most of the fanbase is pretty beaten down, and I don't hear the automatic reverting to past accomplishments as often as I used to.
