Shaggy was great but surly is just horrible. And Texas fans are fricking terrible.

My favorite Horn board of all time was Longhorn Fanzone (LFZ). It was run by a middle-aged, middle income guy who nevertheless wrote a book about himself and his philosophy towards winning in life.
It was called "Forged From A Hotter Fire" . . . .you can still buy it on Amazon.

Right after publishing his tome about winning life, he stole a bunch of money from the various LFZ posters through a fictitious road-trip to Oklahoma State. They all pre-paid the trip and he never showed up.

Then came ShaggyBevo which was pretty fun until the owner got sideways in a business deal and the site was taken over in a financial settlement. The community rolled over to the same thing basically but it is now called SurlyBevo.

A&M has always had a very stable board in TexAgs and it is so odd that the Horn boards have been so unstable.

Landthieves was the OG Oklahoma message board. It had a nice design, 15+ yrs of posting history.

Landthieves and ShaggyBevo (Texas one) were linked somehow. I don't remember the exact story, but it was something like a UT grad created and hosted both websites. For some reason he decided to stop hosting it or something (maybe someone else was managing it at the point). But the jist of it was that both forums just disappeared one day (this was sometime over the past 2-3 yrs.)

Both SurlyHorns and DirtBurglars were created as the replacements.

It's a shame the DirtBurglars is the replacement for OU - the original Landthieves forum was so nice. I think a lot of original OU users just ditched message boards and went Twitter only after that.

Basically same thing, agreed. Not sure how one could be seen superior to the other.

I used to be on 247, had a similar set up to this, but obviously it’s football & recruiting threads there, this place is less active on recruiting and more community based, which I like

To be honest, it’s rivals and 247, where more of our Texas based fans comment, and now the guy that started Rivals, and 247, is starting his third site, so there will be a new national recruiting ranking site that launches this year, I think it’s called 3on3 or something like that, for the longest time I thought Rant was an LSU thing

Some OU people on TFB (The Football Braniacs). There is a texsa side, but like the team, it sucks. The demise of LandThieves and some of them coming to TFB reduced the value of that board. But yes DirtBurglers and Shaggy
