Alabama hiring Shula rather than one of Paul Bear Bryant's pall bearers in Sly Croom. Would've been first black HC in the SEC.

94 interception game would be the GOAT melt of all melts.

On the flipside the Barn Burning and Earthquake Games would have made them more insufferable than ever.

Oh and the IB in the freezing rain where Auburn stole the Gumps soul for a while. Ive seen a few admit tha was the most low point of their fandom.

LSU-Alabama game in '98. Just watch the last few minutes of that game and imagine the rant.

1954 Cotton Bowl - Tommy Lewis comes off the Bama bench to tackle a Rice player breaking away for what would have been a long TD because Lewis "Had too much Bama in him"

Coming to post this. Can you imagine the memes of this play and how his quote would have permeated everything? You still see it from time to time even today and that was 60+ years ago.

Punt Bama Punt - the fact that Alabama still won the SEC because they played one more conference game than Auburn would have caused more discussion than the game itself

1966 - Alabama is the 2x defending AP national champion, they start out #1, they're the only major team to win every game, and they end up finishing #3 after Michigan State and Notre Dame agreed to tie.

LSU was not getting in that game even if they went undefeated that year. It was already determined to be Southern Cal. and Texas.

My dad still hates Notre Dame unconditionally because of that year. The fact that they also pulled off 4 straight wins vs Bama in the 70s that was al within 7 points intensifies his hatred of them.

I think you mean North Ave.

And I have no clue bro I stay in the county. I'm just a sidewalk Tech fan who models my playbook off of theirs

The Varsity is like the Waffle House..it should only be consumed after a night of partying.

No way in hell the northern press was going to allow Alabama to win an unprecedented 3 in a row and usurp Notre Dame as best program, plus the SEC was still segregated, in the middle of the civil rights movement.

That the p.o.s. George Wallace was governor of Alabama probably didn't help matters either.

The most boring SEC Championship game in history got real interesting for a few minutes in 1998.

State remembered it was State and pissed it away. But this was the game that gave us Junior and LuLu
