OM doesn't know they suck, and for some reason think they have a proud history, which really isn't that great and it ended in the 60's. So even though they won't admit it, baseball is all they have too.

Better get used to the idea of losing to the team you just described. And in multiple sports.

NCAA recognizes us as national champions in football for 1960. So.....

Not that it matters, but that was actually 2009 not 2008.

As we were leaving the stadium happily discussing the win and where we were going to grab dinner, some old Aggie very angrily shouted at us, "you know you just gave State the championship, don't you?"

We were flabbergasted that he could possibly think that should change how we felt about things.

We did stop long enough to tell the guy that no one gave State anything and that while, ceteris paribus, we'd prefer for State never to beat anyone but LSU, we had absolutely zero mixed feelings about winning the game.

I won't say it doesn't matter or that I wouldn't have preferred for someone else to have won the conference, but the mentality of rooting against your own team's best interest for the sake of hurting a rival is completely foreign to me, and I'd imagine also to almost every member of all but a handful of SEC fanbases.

Truth. Especially when you're still playing for something postseason wise.

Absolutely ... If we lost yesterday then lost to UGA in Hoover, a team that is playing for their postseason lives, we would've missed out on hosting for sure.

"Confederate Homes & Gardens" National Championships don't count.

Outside of a couple years in football, wtf has Auburn done??? Not a damn thing yall are the conference doormat in basketball and baseball. Hell it seems like yall tank in football about 3 or 4 times every decade. Point is: bama can talk shite all they want...Auburn can't

So you think we should have lost on purpose? What a Mississippi State thing to do.

Ha, you've had two decent to good years, cheating your asses off. Not too concerned about any future dominance.

So, for OM and MSU, winning the SEC Baseball Regular Season Championship is a big deal,

ive noticed that the only schools that discredit SEC championships in baseball are the schools that have historically had a hard time finding a base hit, and have historically sucked in baseball. of course, in this particular instance, we are also dealing with a fan of the school that has finished dead last in EVERY sport this year, so I am sure that also plays a part in his exuberance to discredit the championship state college won yesterday.

The NCAA list a championship you claim. It recognizes that you claim it, nothing more. You've won no Natty of significance in your history. The good news is you're only one behind USCe...

Keep up the mediocre work...

If a Tennessee fan said this it would be a legit response because we genuinely don't care about baseball and never have but OM cares about baseball. So c'mon now...

Ole Miss had to beat the best team in college baseball on the road to pave the way for state college to win the 'ship.

I thought Florida was the best team in college baseball.

I didn't know they gave out the Grantland Rice trophy, which was the NC trophy at the time.
