Well that's not true, at all...
Do you know what a "record" is? Because LSU set one of those against Mizzou...as in the most yards (~638) we've gained against an SEC opponent.

Les pretty did it every year when playing shitty teams
Les was notorious for anemic showings vs shitty teams. You really shouldn't bother entering an argument when it's clear you have no idea what you're talking about.

we are hoping that the revived offense under coach o isn't just a fluke against weaker opponents.

Reasonable and understandable

we have this hope because under miles we would never have had this kind of offensive production.

Simply not true.

In 2015, LSU had a narrow 2 point win against Mississippi State. In that game, they had 334 yards of total offense and scored 21 points.

Over the next 6 games, they averaged 475 yards total offense (171 passing with 3 games of 200+ yards) and 42 points per game. The largest point total in that stretch was 48 against Western Kentucky, the highest total offense was 624 yards total against USCe, and the highest passing total was 286 yards against WKU.

In the two games since you fired Les, you've scored a high of 45 points, had a total offense high of 634 yards, and a passing yards high of 276 yards.

From a statistical standpoint, you're pretty much at the same place you were this time last season just prior to the wheels falling off.

The only difference is in record, which may come from the fact that this year you faced a much better P5 OOC foe (Wisky/Syracuse) and Auburn is much improved.

We'll see starting Saturday if there is real reason for the renewed hope or of you're about to tailspin home again.

how about non stats.

getting to line quickly.
qb audible to avoid a bad play.
lack of dumb penalties.

those are just as glaring

You beat a bad missouri team an So.Miss. Scoring 45 and 42. Over the past 3 years Miles led teams have scored in the 40's 9 times, in the 50's 4 times and over 60 once. So to say you wouldn't get this much offensive production from a Miles led team is silly.

Those things are great and they will pay dividends in close games and over the long haul. They're legitimate reasons to have renewed hope.

If the post to which I replied had used those as his basis for optimism, he would have made a point. Instead, he chose to make the very easily refuted claim that the last two games were performances not seen under Miles when the truth is that they were seen under Miles exactly one year ago.

I'm not saying LSU fans shouldn't be optimistic, only that it would be wise to slow your roll until you're past some of the stumbling blocks of the last few seasons.

maybe points and yardage.

but those passing yards last year only came on bombs chunked as far as harris could throw it. this year it triple wr sets. hell we have been running 1 back 2 wr and 2 te sets the last two weeks. never saw that under miles. it opens up soo much more.

but sec rant doesn't really watch lsu play. we know that

ETA: 19 first downs in one half against missouri. that beat every miles game and all of sabans except when josh reed went off on bama

It builds every year then their dreams are crushed, they lose to Arkansas, and it starts all over again.

SOS every year.
