I think either way it's the same team, and the record would adjust itself by a game or 2 in the bevo, and we would still be right where we are now on the back side of the bubble.

It's not the sec's fault, it's the team's

Don't get me wrong our problems start and end with the team itself and its made its own bed to lie in. My only point is that one of the maddening tendencies of our team has been to play to its competition's level especially at home, and in the Big 12 or other leagues that tendency coupled with many more Top 25 and certainly Top 40 type teams coming *into* Mizzou Arena all year would have given us more chances for RPI boosting wins that would probably tip our scales up and over into the Dance. Our home wins we have this year over Miss State, South Carolina, Bama, Vandy etc aren't helping us get in the Dance at all. Trade those out for home wins over Ok State, K-State, Iowa State and you are boosting your RPI like crazy every single time. And our team has shown that it likes to play right at the level of whatever team comes into Mizzou Arena, so they'd win more than their fair share of those games in other leagues.

Maybe. I get what your saying but I'm still thinkin maybe at best. We lost to GA and just almost lost to aTm so assuming we beat OkieSt, KSt, and ISt at home is a big assumption.

If I was going to complain about the SEC it would be the officiating. It is so bad, inconsistant, and favors the home team to such an advantage that you have to be ten points better than the other team to win on the road. Mizzou plays every game close so that kills us

This team would have gotten hammered in the Big Bevo.

If we were 30-0, then maybe we would have the right to complain about the perceived weakness of the SEC. But the reality is we suck arse.

Could it be that the Hawgs beat SMU, Minnesota, Clemson, Kentucky x2, but because the majority of those wins were early in the season AND the Hawgs are part of the SEC, they really aren't that good?

More like because only 2 of those are actually good wins, but not great wins. @Kentucky and SMU are the only quality wins you listed.

Clemson.....seriously.....

To the OP, your premise is flawed because there are not many consistent teams this season. There are just a bunch of 7, 8, and 9 loss teams with better resumes. Outside of maybe Arkansas does Mizzou have a single quality win on their resume?

If the SEC wanted too, in a few years, it could dominate college basketball. The money is there, the coaching is better, but could be even more so.

The way this conference is looked at from an NCAA BB perspective is atrocious. I looked at the projections from RPI today. 7 Big 12 teams>? 4 sec,

other places have 8 big 12 in at this time. Crazy!

I agree with the money part, but as a whole the coaching part greatly needs to improve from top to bottom. The SEC is going to have to throw the money at some of the better coaches even those at the mid majors that are up and coming.

There was a time not extraordinarily long ago -- after the last major expansion of the tourney field -- when a 20 win season was almost a guarantee of going dancing if you were in a major conference, regardless of the competition. In the '90s, 20 wins was pretty much the target threshold that pundits and fans alike set as the point where a team could start breathing easy. If a team with 20 wins in a major conference didn't make it, people would be discussing it for weeks afterwards. But the expanded seasons, growth of early season tournaments, and burst of parity between the major and mid-major conferences has whacked that paradigm pretty hard.

Well maybe you shouldn't lose to us twice.

You are right, we shouldn't have. Especially at home. Won't let it happen any more.
