I use 4 years as a measure just simply because that's how long an athlete/student usually stays at a university to get his or her degree.

That being said, I think 2006-2009 was the best. Not only was that the start of the SEC dominance, but there were some awesome moments within that timeframe.

Ohio State getting hammered twice in a row in the championship game. Bama's return to glory. You had Tebow, Stafford, McFadden, Ingram, Les Miles, Houston Nutt among others. It was just an entertaining period with great athletes and interesting coaches.

After that, it kind of just turned into Bama and Friends :/

2008 was my favorite season of the past decade. CFB has become pretty mediocre the past few years.

2008-2011.

The last time we had 4 different teams win the conference.

As a Gator fan I certainly won't argue.

Two football national titles and two basketball national titles. Life was pretty damn good.

In my lifetime, 2007-2010. Good football, significant starpower.

2007: LSU wins NC even after losing 2 games. UGA also extremely good with Stafford, Moreno and Co., smokes Hawaii in Sugar Bowl. Tebow wins Heisman. UGA acting a fool in WLOCP and AU blackout game. McFadden goes off weekly. People figure out how weird Les Miles is. Nick Saban debuts at Alabama by losing to ULM

2008: Bama shows up again, ill-fated blackout game, UF (team and firearms) loaded, Tebow crying speech, LSU plays shite defense for first time in recent memory, AJ and Julio show up in a big way, UF win NC

2009: Bama beats Tebow/Meyer UF juggernaut and wins NC vs Texas, Lane Kiffin shows up and ruffles feathers, Lane Kiffin leaves

2010: Cam Newton saga and all that brought with it, AJ Green jerseygate, crazy Iron Bowl, Tennessee sucks again after brief hiatus under Kiffin, AU wins NC

I think 2009-2012 was pretty solid

2009: Bama upends Tebow and the Gators to bring Florida's dominance to a screeching hault.

2010: Auburn and all the Cam Newton drama

2011: Alabama/LSU at the top of the college football world

2012: Last great SEC Championship game between Bama and Georgia... not to mention Johhny Football entertaining everybody over in College Station

Shoot, I'd say 2001 was the start of what is still SEC dominance. 2006 was when it was an established dominance.

2006-2009

SC won the NIT in 2005 and 2006 NIT tournaments.

SEC baseball had a pretty dominant run as well:

2008 UGA in finals
2009 LSU wins title
2010 SC wins title
2011 SC wins title
2011 UF in finals
2012 SC in finals
2013 MSU in finals
2014 Vandy wins title
2015 Vandy in finals

So last year was the first time in 8 years that an SEC team wasn't at least in the finals with at least 6 teams making 1 appearance.

Whatever years before the started the fricking targeting pussified bullshite football.

To make it illegal to straighten somebody up is so anti-American.
