Thoughts on this one?
I think LSU will be fine as long as they keep Devine in check

Agreed, he's the one of the few guys in CFB that can change momentum in 1 play.
Gotta know where he is every play Saturday night...he'll get his yards, just have to keep it in small chunks.

A battle of wits

WVU's QB is quite a threat as well. I think it will be close for a half, but LSU will win by 10-17.

WVU is the worst coached team in Div I ball. LSU by a mile in this one.

Geno Smith is a talented young QB and will make some plays, but I think he's gonna get a heavy pass rush from LSU

I don't know why anyone would say WVU is the worst coached team in the FBS. They had a miracle comeback aganist a fired up Marshall on the road that they easily could have given up on (they were down 15 with 8:30 left and the ball deep in their own territory). Can't say the same about Va. Tech v. JMU, Ole Miss v. Jax St., Kansas, Minnesota etc and those were FCS opponents.
Last year, they went 9-4 with the three regular season losses all on the road against Auburn, Cincy and USF, all of which were competitive games. Their bowl loss was to Bobby Bowden in his last game as a head coach. There was no way they had a chance in that one. They went 9-4 the year before with two losses in overtime and one on the road to their archrival, Pitt. They had one bad loss that year, to ECU, who has been known to upset teams (especially back then with Skip Holtz).
And of course, in his first game as a head coach, he led WVU to a rout of a team many argued should be in the national title game, Oklahoma.
So, what exactly is this based on again?

I actually really like WVU's coach, even though people always seem to share the opposite feelings towards him. Seems like a coach that players would love to play for.

LSU wins this one and covers the 5 point spread.

I agree. LSU will do fine against West Virginia. We need to worry more about the games in up coming weeks... Tennessee, Florida, Bama, Auburn, Arkansas.
West Virginia? Seriously ... They suck.

After going back and looking at WVU's performances under Stewart, I'm actually more worried about this game than I initially was. This is still a very good team, maybe not at the level when they were at their best with RichRod, but they will come to compete. Their defense is better than people think too. We need to be able to control the ball in this one and keep it out of Geno and Noel's hands.
I love to watch our defense though. We have one of those teams when I'm more excited about getting a score when the defense is on the field than the offense.

I think most of the action will be between the 2 fan bases. Mountain folk vs swamp folk.

i love it when people think this way. in the long run you set yourself up for such huge falls.
better hope your coach takes them seriously. (he does, his job is constantly on the line these days)

Well, if they're not in the SEC, they can't be any good right? Ask Georgia how bad West Virginia was when they spanked em in the Sugar Bowl. And Aubie fan can talk about how bad a coach Stewart is, but we all know that fan base was reeling when WVU reeled off 21 in the first quarter against them last year. Yes, Aubie had a nice comback in that one, but they needed a comback to win. They were down 3 in the fourth quarter. And, of course, Aubie got spanked two years ago at Milan-Puskar Stadium.
So any LSU fans who have any delusions about this being a rollover game better think again. But, you have to respect the football team wanting to play great out of conference competition, UNC suspensions notwithstanding.
