How could anyone forget the mass rejoicing that took place on here when that happened. There were like two separate 1000+ post threads on here. One started by a LSU fan about how great he'd be. Another by I think a gump going off about how bad he'd be that was full of tiger posters arguing against it

Hopefully someone bookmarked those threads

Bet they'd be really similar to a lot of the Canada threads we're seeing now

You're leaving out one thing - Les Miles is no longer anywhere near the offensive game plan.

And GFY. Yes we are excited to be hiring one of the top coordinators in college football who will be allowed to do his job. What fanbase wouldn't be?

Optimism when your school hires a new OC after your offense has been a shitshow for years under the micromanagement of a coach straight out of 1972?

What a concept.

What fanbase from the SEC gets excited about a new hire when the last one sucked?

We'll never know how good Cameron could've been if Miles hadn't handcuffed him with a playbook consisting of 4 plays.

Since they've gone with Canada, does this mean they're trying to secede from the SEC?

They've been trying to secede long before Canada

And you were every bit as "scared" as we are of Shitham.

Yes, but I was not one of them. The fact that Balimore showed him the door and then went on to win the Super Bowl told me everything.

Yep, an I tried to warn them. I saw how things were when he was with the Ravens. He was fired in the middle of a Super Bowl run, he was that bad.

Honest answer... Most were VERY excited when we hired Cameron. I expected our Qb problems were soon to be over and we would field an explosive offense.

I am now very jaded as an LSU fan and am cautiously optimistic about the Canada hire. I just don't have a good handle on what his thing is. I'm sure that I would be just as reserved about ANY hire at this point. Being an LSU fan will make anyone a bit neurotic.

Auburn fans were excited when they only lost twice to him.

An honest response is yes, we were glad to have him. At that time, we collectively believed that our poor offensive play was because of our OC. We hadn't yet come to the realization that Les Miles was the reason our offense was so terrible against any good defenses.

Two seasons ago, Miles was given an choice of either modernize the offense or face consequences. He didn't listen and got fired (twice).

Bring in the CEO and things have obviously changed fast. LSU fans now have every reason to be very optimistic about the future of the program.

Will we dominate Bama? No. We might be in a position to play competitive football against them.

I warned LSU fans about Cam Cameron just like I warned Gators fans about Jim McElwain. A lot of people are too meek to speak the truth because the truth is often unpopular. They don't want to go against the crowd and piss people off. I don't know if Matt Canada will be a good hire or not but I do know that LSU fans shouldn't get excited just because a lot of their fellow fans are pumped up about the hire. Take off the LSU homer glasses and do your own research to come to a rational conclusion about the hire.
