I would not have thought they got called for holding that many times. Not that they don't hold, but getting flagged is a different deal.

1. Of course, smart coaching is one possible reason, teaching the techniques of how to hold without getting caught.

2. Also the theory of paying off the officials or the grand conspiracy of the SEC front office protecting them.

I tend to subscribe to #1 and some sour grapes from the competition.

They did a crappy job teaching Drake how to flop.

Drake didn't flop. He's had a tricky leg bone since Ole Miss cheap-shotted him in '14. It flared up on the sideline in that gif. Legit.

That front 7 didn't give up shite. One of those 40 point games was a result of the offense and special teams turning it over 5 times. The other was a result of facing the best quarterback college football has seen since 2010.

THIS. They decimated that Clemson line. ANY other QB in the nation plays that game and Clemson gets rolled up. He manufactured most of those yards by himself. Watson is special. That's obvious. You can't cover receivers forever. Especially talented ones.

if said play resulted in a sack, in turn alabama declined a potential holding penalty, would that not show up on the stat sheet? meaning, holding was called, but declined? very possible.....and probable if you had 400 tackles for loss.

It looks like the payment to the SEC office bounced and they are making up for not calling Alabama for a holding penalty for 2 straight years ending a couple of years ago.

Looking at your gif, all I can think is, "Holy crap, what field is that? It looks like a pack of buffalo went wild there."

Those were included. Alabama declined two or three of them, if memory serves.

i dont know of anywhere that stores that stat, but you can easily go through the play by play on the espn box score, shows the result of every play, just expand all the drives and search for offensive holding

So this stat you presented us is based off you own research of going through every play of every Bama game this year?

Seems legit
