I thought it was a great three games between two teams that were missing a lot of players. AU was missing Mize and our starting SS who leads the team in homeruns and is second in RBI. We also benched our 3 hole hitter in the nightcap and had guys at the bottom of the order I haven't seen get at bats in weeks. It basically came down to two shaky bullpens and MSU's couldn't throw strikes for the most part.

But something tells me that State will be ahead of Auburn in the final standings. State looked like we all thought it would look like. Hopefully, it was just this series.

Its going to depend on the Bama series for AU. We need to sweep IMO to have a chance at regular season championship. I think AU probably ends up 3rd or 4th in the league (depending on tiebreakers) which would be incredible. I was shocked to see LSU only a game out this morning after all the disappointment surrounding this team.

I still don't get your constant negativity around this team. Auburn is in the drivers seat to win the conference.

Mine? I am over the moon with this team. Being realistic though there are about 6 teams that could end up winning the league. UF, UK have much easier schedules down the stretch and LSU, A&M, OM are coming on not to mention Arky and MSU are still in it. The trend coming down the stretch is the teams without pitching depth are starting to get crushed. Arky, State, and UK/AU seem to be hanging on by a thread as far as bullpen goes. I think AU finishes 19-11.

State controls their destiny as they hold a series win against UK and do not play the Gators (the two most likely to win the east).

We have been waiting a long time. Not sure if you are old enough to remember but AU was a powerhouse in the 90s and had a very good baseball tradition from about mid 70s to early 2000s. Baseball was always the #2 sport. Lack of state lotto has all but erased AU/Bama as consistent winners and has propelled a lot of SEC programs ahead of them.

Auburn had a solid program but no it was not a powerhouse in the 90s. Iirc Auburn hasn't won a conference title since the 70s. A trip to Omaha in 97 doesn't make auburn a powerhouse for a decade, given y'all missed the tournament in half the decade

We also made Omaha in 94

From 1993-2005 We only missed the tournament in 96 and 04

That's solid but nowhere near a powerhouse. SEC tournament champs is not a conference title, it's a tournament title

I never claimed we were a powerhouse, I was just correcting your information.

There was nothing to correct really. Not sure what the 2000s has to do with the 90s

4-1 UK in the 5th. I'm at the game and the crowd is on edge. Holbrook seems to be a dead man walking.
