Now, if Missouri beats Auburn for the SEC title, it should be:

1. Missouri
2. Auburn
3. Alabama

Seems reasonable

How would you rank them if Auburn wins?

Depends on the nature of the Auburn win.

Who am I kidding, Auburn will win on some miraculous freak play.

1.Auburn
2. Alabama
3. Mizzou

They are ranked 5 in the BCS.

That is the BCS, if it were SEC voters doing the BCS do you think a non SEC team would be ranked 1-5?

FSU and OSU are both in the Top 5 but with the schedule either played, are they really top 5?

I'm not playing this game, I was just using the BCS to support my questioning of ranking Mizzou 4th in the SEC

I sorta have teh feeling that even if Missouri wins the SEC they won't be ranked #1 by this poll in week 15

Overall not a bad poll, other than flipping Florida and Tennessee I'm mostly in agreement with the rankings

I will echo the LSU comment on Jennings. Not looking forward to facing him.

As an LSU fan, I don't even know what to think after watching that. I'm definitely not in the "OH MAN HE'S GOING TO BE OUR BEST QB EVER" side just because more game experience is needed of course. But, I think about any of the previous QBs we've had in the past 4-5 years and there isn't one who could have run and passed our team to victory as a true freshman for a 99 yard drive.

I look forward to seeing him more... very possibly as our QB in the bowl game.

I loved his confidence. That he didn't feel overwhelmed by the unexpected action says something positive I think.

To feel even better I want to see him develop between this year and next year like Mett did between last year and this year. Hopefully CC will mesh with him and get him fast tracked towards being a complete quarterback.

Mizzou has not played Alabama, Auburn, or LSU

LSU already has > 1 loss
Auburn would have > 1 loss if Mizzou wins

Not sure why you would not think they get #1? Who else would have a claim?

1) I don't think anyone would have a legitimate claim

2) It wouldn't stop some people from saying Alabama was better

They put Auburn ahead of Missouri before Auburn beat Alabama. I don't understand the case when you look at their respective seasons. You had one team who had won all their games by 2 TDs or more and lost a game in OT because their kicker missed a 26 yard field goal (while USC made theirs from 40 yards). The other team (Auburn) had struggled past some mediocre teams like MSU and WSU, took a miracle to get past UGA, and lost by 2 TDs to LSU.

There's name bias, there always is. People like a name they are familiar with considering excellent. Missouri just lacks that name brand whether or not they deserve the respect this year.

Auburn was ranked above Mizzou before playing Bama for the same reason they were ranked above them in the BCS before playing Bama: Auburn's loss to LSU was a month before your loss to USC.

Also, you can't downplay your loss to USC, in which your defense gave up a huge 4th qtr comeback (you didn't lose bc of a missed field goal), and simultaneously hold it over auburn that they lost early in the season to a team who was playing it's best ball of the year.

missouri is not my team FWIW.

IMO rankings are about body of work and Missouri had been much more dominant in the course of their season than Auburn had (esp against common opponent UGA)

If that's true, why is Florida ranked 12? At a national level, there may be name bias, but I don't see it here.

because they have four wins.

bias isn't about completely ignoring everything about a situation. bias is about coin flip decisions, impressions, and judgments that could conceivably be argued both ways.

The "voter" that placed Ole Miss @ 14 should not be allowed to participate ever again, even if they are an Ole Miss fan.
