Damn. That's rough. I like Bruce Feldman's writing ok, but I can't see him being worth a damn as a sideline reporter.

I think they use Feldman like Fox Baseball uses Ken Rosenthal, more as an on-site national reporter talking about a specific story about an in-game player and/or a national story.

Gotcha. That makes more sense. I guess he did it last year too? I don't remember seeing him. Maybe because FS1 is off my radar.

CBS use to have the US Open contract so they would show that on opening weekend of football. They lost that contract last year to ESPN, so now they have nothing to show the first weekend so they put some meaningless game to fill time.. like the A&M game.

CBS started on week 1 last year. They use to wait until week 3 because they had the contract for the U.S. Open (tennis), which runs into early/middle Sept. ESPN now has the US Open contract, so CBS starts it's college football coverage on week 1.
