Can someone explain to me, like a 5th grader, the difference between the SEC Network+ and ESPN+, and what it means to me? TIA

SEC Network+ is available on the ESPN App for free to anyone who pays for SEC Network through their TV provider

ESPN+ is a separate monthly subscription through ESPN itself

I personally only buy ESPN+ for this first month of non-conference baseball. Once conference play starts, all SEC games will be on linear networks (SECN/ESPNU, etc.) or SEC Network+

BigD - if you are streaming through the ESPN APP itself -

ESPN+ requires a stand-alone subscription ($9.99/mo i think?) to view games streaming on that particular platform -

SECN+ games can be viewed by logging in with an existing cable TV provider subscription such as Comcast/Spectrum/DirecTV etc -

this seems strange to be on ESPN+ as it's a Florida 'home' game - which usually means SECN+ - if it were an away/neutral game against a non-P5 team that ESPN supports it then often rolls over to ESPN+ - not sure why ESPN is pushing this game to ESPN+ but they are ...

They are actually not related.

Additionally, the Tate Twins are finally gone. End of an era

They do this for 1-2 non-conference games for every team. Every SEC football team has to play one game on ESPN+ as well

Gotcha thanks.

By the way, Georgia is ripping the cover off the ball, and I was going to post some stats this morning but the people running the SECN stats have it screwed up this morning.
I will add it later.

You would think ESPN+ > SECN+ but I guess it is worse.

It’s a very surprising development. The only guys from last year’s lineup (which was pretty good) who are in this year’s are Condon & Gonzo.

3 year starters like Corey Collins and Murillo have gotten their jobs taken by transfers from all over the place. Josh Stinson started ~20 games last year and has yet to make a plate appearance.

Most of these guys are severely overperforming based on their stats from their previous school, even if you factor in that the competition hasn’t been as great. I don’t think they can keep it up but we will see

gotcha - part of the new tv deal I suspect - I now remember the uproar when Carolina's football game v Furman last season was on ESPN+ ... ESPN forcing SEC fans to pay beyond cable/satellite/tv streaming -

ETSU always plays Tennessee tough. I wouldn’t be shocked if we lost that one.

I keep it for the first two months because you get access to some pretty good articles related to the basketball tournament. Just make sure you don’t accidentally subscribe to the annual membership.

So dumb that they're separate but there's enough of us who are dumber to pay for each one.

I think he was talking about the Goldstein boys on the UGA baseball team not being related. But it works for the network things too.

Need Georgia to get Wes Johnson trained up. When DVH retires, we're gonna be calling him home.

I'll never forget when Wes Johnson was our pitching coach and one of our pitchers was having trouble finding the zone. He walked out to the mound and asked "Everything alright?," to which our pitcher responds "Yeah.," and WJ exclaims "Then throw strikes!" and walks back to the dugout.

It was the shortest mound visit that I can recall. Our pitcher then proceeded to throw strikes and have a good game.

I'm a big fan of Wes Johnson and was sad as hell when he left for the Twins.

Big Zane gets the start tonight. Best of luck to him & I really hope he's able to step up this season, losing Riley so early really stinks.
